It all started at the gym in Austin in 2019, where fate - and a stubbornly high weight rack -brought us together. Jacob was struggling to unrack his incline bench when Nicole stepped in to lend a helping hand. That brief interaction was the start of something special. Our first date was at a local pizza joint, Pinthouse Pizza, where Jacob introduced Nicole to a truly unforgettable creation: an ice cream float topped with stout beer. A unique but fitting combination - just like us! We officially started dating in December 2019, blissfully unaware of the challenges ahead as the world shut down just a few months later. Through lockdowns and uncertainty, we found strength in our shared passion for powerlifting, converting Jacob’s makeshift home gym into our personal training haven. When we weren’t lifting weights, we were soaking in the beauty of Austin - taking Archie, our lovable Basset Hound, for long walks around Ladybird Lake, paddleboarding at sunset, and making the most of moments together. Beyond the gym, we love catching local games - whether it’s Austin FC soccer, Round Rock Express baseball, Austin Stars hockey, or college football games from our respective Alma maters: Texas A&M and Texas Tech. Any excuse for stadium beers, nachos, and sunshine! At home, we make a great team in the kitchen - Jacob working the grill and Nicole whipping up delicious desserts - always surrounded by friends, laughter, and good food. Over the years, we’ve traveled together, making memories in Fredericksburg, Las Vegas, Colorado, Japan, College Station, Louisiana, Chicago, a cruise to Mexico and Honduras, and most recently, New York City. And it was there, on December 18, 2024, that Jacob proposed - kicking off the next chapter of our adventure. We celebrated the exciting news with close friends in Connecticut, where Nicole lived before meeting Jacob, making it all the more special. From gym buddies to life partners, our journey has been full of laughter, adventure, friends, family, gains, and, of course, lots of love. We cant wait to celebrate this next step with you all!
