It is crazy to think that we met on our very first day of college and have been together ever since! We met on the banks of the upper Hudson River during our orientation whitewater rafting trip. Our college, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, offered a unique opportunity for students to meet their future classmates while camping in the remote wilderness of upstate NY. After many miles of waves, laughter, and several nerds going overboard, the rafts pulled into Boreas-Hudson River campground, many miles deep within the beautiful Adirondack Park. We were sitting around a bonfire with our classmates, sharing stories of our most memorable high school experiences (I know, nerds right?). Nicole, always being the night owl she is, did not go back to her tent as everyone else went to sleep. Sean, despite usually having an old man bedtime, stayed up to keep Nicole company. The excitement in Sean's face was definitely visible as the stories Nicole shared of her time in the Catskills and love for dogs and the outdoors piqued his interest. Hours passed, but time seemed to stand still as we talked late into the night. We spent the next three days together talking, laughing, exploring, and growing even closer together. But the memories didn't stop there. Even a month after meeting, not a day had gone by where we had been apart from each other. Walking to our favorite sunset overlook on campus became a daily routine, and after one of those sunsets, we started officially dating (9/15/18)! The next four years consisted of RPI hockey games, hikes back in the Adirondacks, and countless study dates (during freshman year, Sean rode his bike down to the library each night during obscure hours to wish (the very studious) Nicole goodnight). The rest is history! 6 years and 3 months later, Sean asked Nicole to be his wife on a beautiful white sand beach in St. Lucia. We are both very thankful to have you all be part of our story and are even more excited to see you at our wedding!
