Question

What is President Lincoln’s Cottage?

Answer

The Cottage is where President Lincoln lived for part of his presidency and during the height of the Civil War. It is now a historic site and museum located on a 250 acre campus in Northwest Washington, DC. During Saturday’s cocktail hour, guests will be free to tour the museum. For more historical information, see https://www.lincolncottage.org/about/history/

Question

Who was President Lincoln?

Answer

Oh boy. Try not to be embarrassed that you’re reading this answer — and proceed to the next question.

Question

Is parking available at Lincoln’s Cottage?

Answer

Yes, plenty of free parking will be available on site. Simply provide your name(s) to the gate attendants upon arrival, and they will direct you.

Question

What if I don’t like the Omni hotel?

Answer

No sweat! There are endless hotel options in the DC area. Feel free to stay where you’d like and either travel directly to the wedding events or meet at the Omni hotel for the event shuttles.

Question

What will the weather be?

Answer

Somewhere between 10°F and 120°F. Historically, November 1 averages in the mid-60s°F. Last year, it was 83°F. Suffice to say, we're tracking it. While the wedding ceremony and reception will be outside, we’ll provide tents and heaters as needed. We recommend layers (shawl/blazer/something) as the sun sets. #WeatherBeCray

Question

Can my children join?

Answer

We adore your kiddos, but the Friday Welcome Event and the Saturday Wedding are adults only. If you’re still traveling with your kids and need a cool neighborhood for trick-or-treating on Friday, text us and we can suggest locations nearby.

Question

What about Halloween?

Answer

While a fantastic holiday, the Friday Welcome Event will not be a costume party.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

On this website! The RSVP webpage will become available in the coming days.

Question

What about invitations?

Answer

Invitations are in the mail (yes, real mail!). You should expect to receive yours soon.
