The Cottage is where President Lincoln lived for part of his presidency and during the height of the Civil War. It is now a historic site and museum located on a 250 acre campus in Northwest Washington, DC. During Saturday’s cocktail hour, guests can roam the Cottage. Oh boy. Try not to be embarrassed that you’re reading this answer — and proceed to the next question.
Absolutely! See the "Travel" page on this website.
The venue for the Welcome Event is a 5-minute walk from the Omni hotel. No shuttles will be provided (but please reach out with any concerns!).
No sweat! There are endless hotel options in the DC area. Feel free to stay where you’d like and either travel directly to the wedding events or meet at the Omni hotel for the event shuttles.
A crisp fall evening awaits! Temperatures will be around 60°F early on, cooling to the upper 40s°F later in the night. No rain is currently expected, though there may be some clouds during the day. The ceremony will be outdoors, with the reception to follow under a heated tent. We recommend bringing a light jacket or wrap for comfort as the evening cools down.
We adore your kiddos, but the Friday Welcome Event and the Saturday Wedding are adults only. If you’re still traveling with your kids and need a cool neighborhood for trick-or-treating on Friday, text us and we can suggest locations nearby.
While a fantastic holiday, the Friday Welcome Event will not be a costume party. That said, we absolutely encourage levity — wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident!
We recommend leaving your luggage at the hotel’s front desk. The staff have confirmed they’ll have plenty of space to store bags there.
