The Book of Kells Experience
The Book of Kells Experience, including the viewing of the Book of Kells and a visit to the Trinity College Long Room is an absolute MUST. Know that the Long Room is currently restoring their tons of shelves so it may look a little empty on the shelves. We highly recommend the 45 min guided tour-- they share some of the fun superstitions and ghost stories that the Irish are famous for.
Dublin Castle
Ireland is known for its castles and this one does not disappoint.
MoLI – Museum of Literature Ireland
This museum highlights the notable authors in Irish writing. It also has a lovely garden to walk through and opens up to Iveagh Gardens.
The Dead Zoo (aka Natural History Museum)
We of course love the Irish sense of humor, and we love a natural history museum!
Saint Stephen's Green
St Stephen's Green is a lovely park located at the end of Grafton Street. Take a stroll around the busy shopping area, get some delicious coffee (because Dublin coffee shops are phenomenal) and take a lovely stroll in the park (weather allowing).
Kilmainham Gaol
One of the more surprising experiences we've done, this is a fascinating look into the history of Dublin's prison, and the major impact times like the Famine and Troubles had on the city of Dublin. A great tour.
Books Upstairs
Didn't think we would forget the bookstores did you? There are some incredibly cute bookstores (and comic/game shops) around Dublin. Sharing a favorite here, but be sure to google them!
The Winding Stair (Restaurant & Bookshop)
We came for a cute bookshop, we stayed for an even nicer restaurant overlooking the River Liffey, with delicious traditional Irish food. A great meal, highly recommend!
Little Pyg (Restaurant)
Little Pyg offers classic and modern Italian food served in one of Dublin’s most unique restaurant settings at the centre of the historic Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, surrounded by greenery and foliage. It's delicious!
The Pepper Pot (cafe)
Dublin is well known for it's coffee so please take a look. But sharing this cute place where we enjoyed a coffee and some delicious baked treats (with clotted creeam!)
Wicklow Town Centre
While we'll be getting married at Tinakilly, just a few minutes away is the cute town of Wicklow! Enjoy a walk to the lighthouse, get a cute coffee, and walk around!
