To our family and friends, Due to large-scale events planned in Washington, DC, our venue and vendors have advised that it may be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to hold the celebration we envisioned on June 13, and that so many of you planned to travel for. Because of this, we’ve made the difficult decision to move our wedding date to June 20. June 13 held deep personal meaning for us, and we’ve been planning our wedding around that date for nearly two years. Please know this decision came only after exhausting every option to keep our original plans, because we understand how much time, travel, and planning this requires for each of you. We are so deeply sorry for the inconvenience this change may cause and truly hope you’ll still be able to join us on June 20. Having the people we love most with us means everything, and we can’t wait to celebrate together. With so much love, Nicole and Robert
As many of you already know, we *technically* met almost ten years ago when we both decided to become Penn State tour guides. During that time, we were famously not friends, but would occasionally cross paths at our favorite downtown bars. We actually ran into each other at graduation, awkwardly introduced each other to our moms (I mean, they were standing right there we had to!) and both thought "well, I'll never see that person again"... ..Until a random Sunday morning in Arlington when we bumped into each other one block from the apartment we would come to call home just a few years later. After that chance run in, and some light nudging from Nic's best friend, we went on our first date and as they say, the rest is history. But since Rob actually loves history, we will bore you with the details. Our first date was..just okay. I bet you didn't see that coming! But despite that, more dates followed and in mid-December, right before Nic's birthday and Christmas, we decided to make it official. I mean, December is a slow month, might as well add a dating anniversary into the mix! A few years later, Rob was ready to propose and Nic only had one request: not in December. So November it was! Rob planned the perfect day filled with activities that ended with dinner at one of our favorite DC restaurants and a trip to Union Station for the big moment. — From Sunday morning coffee at our neighborhood coffee cart to traveling around the world, there is really nothing we love more than spending time together. Except of course spending time with our dog Ivy, who we adopted in 2021 when she was just a very tiny puppy. Raising her together has been the most fun we've had. And now it's time for the next big step in our story and we are so excited for you all to be a part of it. xo
