Glide through the Grand Canal on a gondola or vaporetto, passing iconic landmarks like the Rialto Bridge and the majestic Palazzo Ducale. From Umbria - just a one hour train ride from our wedding venue you will find this UNESCO Heritage Site. Crowned by a ruined castle, Assisi spills downhill to its famous Basilica of St. Francis,Assisi, a medieval city built on a hill, is the birthplace of Saint Francis, closely associated with the work of the Franciscan Order. Its medieval art masterpieces, such as the Basilica of San Francesco and paintings by Cimabue, Pietro Lorenzetti, Simone Martini and Giotto, have made Assisi a fundamental reference point for the development of Italian and European art and architecture.
Orvieto is one of the most striking, memorable, and enjoyable hill towns in central Italy. Less than 90 minutes from Rome, Orvieto sits majestically high above the valley floor atop a big chunk of tufo volcanic stone, overlooking cypress-dotted Umbrian plains. A visit here will reward you with a delightful, perfectly preserved, and virtually traffic-free world highlighted by a colorful-inside-and-out cathedral and some of Italy's best wine. PS: You'll need to take a funicular to get to this town - just one hour and a half from our wedding venue by train. I highly recommend a visit here.

The birthplace of pizza and the gateway to Pompeii, Naples offers an authentic taste of Italy with its vibrant energy and deep-rooted history. Though a bit rugged, this dynamic city is an incredible way to experience Italian culture at its core. Just two and a half hours from Terni by train, Naples makes for a perfect pit stop before exploring further south. Make sure to take a day to visit Pompeii and climb Mt. Vesuvius. Some trails on Vesuvius only take 30 minutes to reach the top of the crater. Naples is also a hotspot for vintage shopping for those who love unique finds.
If you're feeling adventurous - take the 4 hour train to Sorrento from Terni. If you're stopping in Naples a couple of days - the ride is just an hour to in train. Alternatively, head over to Amalfi or Positano for an unbelievable views and the iconic south coastline. To go directly - just take the bus. If you get car sick easily make sure to pack your dramamine as the Italian coastline although incredible - is very winding. The views are unlike anywhere in the world so we highly recommend this area.
