Bank Street Beach
Harwich boasts a beautiful shoreline facing the Nantucket Sound, and Bank Street Beach is one of the prettiest. Locals love the softness of the sand and the exquisite views of Nantucket across the water. This beautiful Cape Cod beach is great for swimming, sunbathing, walking—there’s even fishing nearby off the Wynchmere Harbor jetty. The Nantucket Sound is great for young swimmers, visitors flock to the wide sandy shoreline in the height of summer, so the 60-car parking lot can get packed.
Harwich Port Downtown
As you enter Harwich Port’s Main Street, you know it. Park the car at the Harwich Chamber of Commerce/Visitor’s Center office and enjoy a nice stroll downtown Harwich Port where you can feel why this was voted #2 Happiest Seaside town by Coastal Living magazine. Harwich Port offers everything from boutique shops to fine dining and the beaches of the Nantucket Sound are a short walk south.
Cape Cod Rail Trail
Ride, walk or run through 6 Cape Cod towns as you follow the Cape Cod Rail Trail. There’s plenty to see along the 25-mile trail and state and national parks to visit as you please. Free parking for trail users is available at Headwaters Drive in Harwich.
