FAQs

Question

Do I need a passport or visa?

Answer

All U.S. citizens will need a valid passport to enter Italy. No visa is required for stays under 90 days. Be sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. Passports expiring sooner WILL NOT be accepted for entry.

Question

Can I bring a guest or children?

Answer

Our celebration is RSVP only, please refer to your invitation. As much as we adore your little ones, we’ve chosen to keep the celebration adults-only (with the exception of our immediate family). We hope this time can be a chance to unwind, celebrate, and soak up the beauty of Sicily. Thank you so much for making the journey to be with us, it means the world to us!

Question

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, our welcome party, ceremony, and reception will be outdoors.

Question

What is the weather like?

Answer

Early July welcomes sunny, consistent weather and more hours of daylight, with average daily temperatures ranging from ~85-92℉ during the day to ~73-78℉ in the evening.

Question

Will there be transportation?

Answer

For the Welcome Party (7/2), Wedding Day (7/3), and Beach Day (7/4), we will be providing shuttle service from Scopello's town square. All hotels recommended are within walking distance to the town square.

Question

I'm just here for the food, what are we having?

Answer

So glad you asked. We will be having amazing Italian food! Expect a lot of pasta, seafood, and traditional Sicilian Cuisine. Come hungry! If you have dietary restrictions, please let us know in your RSVP.

Question

Why Italy?

Answer

As most of you already know, The Capogna family is as Italian as it gets. As we began planning, we discussed a destination wedding, and loved the idea of having an extended celebration with our favorite people in a beautiful country. We're so excited to bring our families and friends together and hope that you are able to create some wonderful memories during this special time in our lives.

Question

Travel Tips?

Answer

Travel Tips? Here are a few helpful tips to make your journey to Tuscany as smooth as possible: Luggage & Packing - Add an AirTag (or similar tracker) to all checked luggage, especially if you have a tight layover. - Pack at least one outfit and essentials in your carry-on, just in case bags are delayed. - Don’t forget to pack your passport, and make sure it’s valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. Phones & Connectivity - Contact your cell provider about an international plan. - Download WhatsApp, many locals and services in Italy use it for communication. - Download offline maps of Sicily and your arrival city on Google Maps before you fly. -Italy uses different plug types, so be sure to pack a European adapter if you're bringing any personal electronics! Money & Payments - You’ll be able to use credit cards in most places, but it’s a good idea to carry a small amount of euros in cash (for taxis, tips, or small shops). -Some places may not accept Amex, suggest to bring additional credit cards. - Let your bank know you’re traveling to avoid any fraud alerts on your card. Travel Comfort - TSA PreCheck + Global Entry or Mobile Passport Control can speed up airport lines! Car Rental - When renting a car, make sure to reserve in advance, especially if you want an automatic transmission. Most booking platforms will default to a manual transmission, so ensure that you're selecting the correct option when booking. Note: Legally, an International Driver’s Permit is "required" to drive in Italy. AAA offers them via mail or at one of their offices for $20. You may or may not be asked by car rental agencies but if you get pulled over, it most likely will be requested by officials. Most importantly, give yourself extra time, stay flexible, and soak up the adventure. We can’t wait to welcome you to Sicily!
