Nicole and Kevin met briefly in Summer 2019 in Durham, NC while Kevin and his friend (Gary) were visiting Gary's sister (Marcy). On that fateful weekend, sparks were flying but Nicole and Kevin went their separate ways when the weekend ended. Throughout the rest of 2019 and the first part of 2020, Marcy relentlessly reminded Nicole of the handsome and kind guy from that Summer. For the first time since the pandemic began, Nicole and Marcy decided to get together one night in May 2020 while social distancing outside on Marcy's patio. Once again, Kevin's name was mentioned and Nicole was strongly encouraged to contact him. Somehow, Nicole gathered enough courage to send him a Facebook friend request. Kevin's response? "It only took 10 months, a global pandemic, rioting in the streets, and a wine night with Marcy, but I finally got the friend request I was waiting for".
It did not take long for Kevin to book a flight to NC and visit Nicole again prior to her move to St. Petersburg, FL in July 2020. After kayaking on Jordan Lake, Kevin took Nicole out to Clouds Brewing in Durham, NC for their first date. Who knew that would kick off the first of many dinner dates and adventures to come? Kevin moved in with Nicole and her dog (Luna) in March 2021 following a significant amount of time spent FaceTiming as well as flying back and forth between NY and FL.
During their visit to NY in Summer 2021, Nicole and Kevin visited Letchworth State Park to go hiking and camping. On the night of July 6th, they enjoyed dinner and wine by their campfire before Nicole walked to the edge of their campsite to stare in awe at the endless amount of fireflies in the woods. Kevin took the opportunity to walk up beside Nicole and kneel down to pop the question that received an emphatic “Yes!” The proposal was perfectly “us” and made the most incredible summer trip visiting Kevin’s family in NY even more memorable!
The Finger Lakes area is New York's largest wine-producing region. Over 100 wineries and vineyards are around Seneca, Cayuga, Canandaigua, Keuka, Conesus, and Hemlock Lakes. Some Fun Facts: On the northern end of the Finger Lakes are also Seneca Falls, the birthplace of the women's suffrage movement; Waterloo, the birthplace of Memorial Day; and Palmyra, the birthplace of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). We realize the Finger Lakes is far for some, but its beauty makes it one of our favorite places! We really hope you can join us. We can't wait to share the uniqueness of this region and the celebration of our wedding with you! Cheers! Sincerely, Nicole & Kevin
