I was a nervous, new EMT at work and, lucky me, I got paired with Jake for training one day. While I was strictly business, trying to learn everything I needed for my job, Jake took a liking to me and tried to flirt in the back of an ambulance with me.......over that summer we were partnered up several times. Long transports and appointments left plenty of time to get to know him and start flirting back. And soon, Nicole turned into "Honey" and Jake turned into "Jakey Baby" and our love story took off!
Jake became such a grown up and bought a house. A house that we both looked at as the first home we would share. While waiting for contractors to visit an empty house on a rainy, Saturday afternoon for quotes, Jake and I started talking out decor, paint colors, and other upgrades to the house. During the wait, I played music and made Mister Two Left Feet dance with me, in what is now our dining room. After the dance, I went to the kitchen and hopped up on the countertop to wait. Five seconds later, Jake rounded the corner looking rather focused and nervous. Just before I could ask what was wrong, he dropped to one knee, opened the ring box, and asked me to marry him. After some happy tears, I pulled it together, and pulled my hands off my face, long enough to say "YES!" It was the easiest "yes" of my life. Now we can't wait for you to join us for the next step in our love story!
