Canal Park & Aerial Lift Bridge
Great place for local shopping, restaurants, breweries/drinks, ice cream, a true Duluth tourist experience! The Aerial Lift Bridge is typically rising every 30 minutes to let ships and boats through (watch out for the horn) and you can walk the piers for the best views of Canal Park & the city hillside!
The Duluth Lakewalk
Duluth’s Lakewalk consists of nearly eight miles of paved pedestrian and bicycle trail stretching from Canal Park to Brighton Beach (Kitchi Gammi Park), much of it along the Lake Superior Shore. Great views to watch boats, the waves, or to just get some walking in!
The Portland Malt Shoppe
One of our must-visits when we come to Duluth! We are obsessed with the malts here and it is a great place for a dessert date! (Accessible via the Lakewalk as well)
Canal Park Brewing Company
One of our favorite local craft breweries (although there are many around Duluth)! A wide variety of craft beer, sours, and ciders typically available. Bonus because you can typically watch boats arriving into the harbor!
Fitger's Mall
Fitger's Mall is a unique blend of history, shopping, and stunning views of Lake Superior. The vibrant mall offers an array of boutique shops, artisanal goods, and cozy cafes, making it the perfect place to browse local! Whether you're looking for a one-of-a-kind souvenir or simply want to enjoy the atmosphere, Fitger's Mall is a must-visit for anyone exploring the area.
Enger Park Tower and Gardens
The Enger Tower and Park in Duluth, MN, offer one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the region. Nestled on the heights of the city, the 80-foot Enger Tower provides sweeping vistas of Lake Superior, the Duluth Harbor, and the iconic Aerial Lift Bridge. The surrounding park is a serene escape, featuring beautiful gardens, walking trails, and peaceful spots perfect for picnics or relaxation.
Lake Superior & the North Shore
If you have some extra time during your stay in Duluth, we highly recommend taking a scenic drive up the North Shore! The route offers stunning views of Lake Superior, winding past rocky cliffs, pine forests, and charming small towns. Stop along the way to explore waterfalls, grab coffee at a local café, or simply take in the peaceful beauty of the lake. It’s the perfect way to experience the natural charm that makes this area so special.
