Question

Altitude & Mountain Tips

Answer

Carbondale, Colorado has an elevation of 6,172’ - and while the views are incredible, the altitude can take some getting used to! At higher elevations, the air is thinner and contains less oxygen, which can affect everyone differently (especially if you’re coming from sea level). Some people experience mild symptoms like headaches, dizziness, nausea, or fatigue. Drink more water (water + electrolytes) than you normally would (about double!), and take it easy your first day in town. Alcohol hits harder at elevation. We absolutely want you to celebrate with us - just be mindful. Pace yourself, alternate each alcoholic drink with a glass of water, and consider limiting your intake so you can feel your best. Layers are key. Mountain weather can change quickly and evenings cool off fast. Bring a jacket or wrap, plus sunglasses and sunscreen!

Question

What is Mountain Formal Dress Code?

Answer

Here is our style guide for our mountain formal dress code - copy and paste the link into your browser: https://www.pinterest.com/nicolemgraziano/mountain-formal-style-guide/ Mountain formal strikes a perfect balance between dressy and bold. Think elevated textures and natural-inspired elements that transform standard formal wear into something unique. A note on layers: October evenings in the Colorado mountains get chilly - a wrap, shawl, or overcoat is highly encouraged! For the gentlemen: A suit jacket and dress pants are the foundation, but creativity is highly encouraged! Lean into the season with suit colors that echo the mountain palette - deep forest greens, rich browns, and slate grays. Cowboy hats and boots are welcome, ties are optional. For the ladies: Opt for a midi or floor-length dress complemented by a block heel or boot (the ceremony and cocktail hour will take place on grass). Play with textured fabrics like velvet or lace and have fun with your accessories.

Question

How do I get to and from the venue?

Answer

Transportation will not be provided to the ceremony. The venue is about a 5-10-minute walk from the Comfort Inn (our hotel block), and approximately 5 minutes by car / 20 minutes on foot from downtown Carbondale. There is ample parking available and you are welcome to leave your car at the venue overnight. Please note ride shares can be limited in the area. For those continuing the celebrations at the After Party, The Valley Hopper (14 passenger van) will be available to bring you to downtown Carbondale.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Our wedding is invite-only with limited seating. As such, we are only able to accommodate plus ones specifically included on invitations.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

As much as we love your little ones, due to venue limitations we ask that adults are only in attendance. We hope you can still join us!

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors, followed by an indoor reception. We recommend bringing a warmer layer for the evening and block heels for those planning to wear heels.

Question

What time should I arrive for the wedding?

Answer

Please plan to arrive and be seated by 4:15 PM for a 4:30 PM ceremony.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Early October in Carbondale typically brings crisp fall weather, with daytime highs in the mid 50s and cooler evenings dropping into the 30s. Expect sunny, beautiful mountain views, but temperatures can drop quickly after sunset. We recommend dressing in layers to stay comfortable throughout the evening.
