The Cliff Walk is a celebrated, scenic, 3.5 mile public path along the beautiful Newport coastline. There are stunning views of the Atlantic on one side, and the backs and grounds of many of Newport's famed Gilded Age mansions on the other! Highly recommend.
Walking distance from every hotel -- free admission to Newport's famous seafood festival which happens to be wedding weekend! Enjoy fresh, local seafood like oysters, clams, lobster rolls, stuffies (a Rhode Island classic), chowder, fish tacos (Christian's favorite), and more. There will be live music in several restaurants along the coast. A great activity for Thursday night pre-welcome drinks, Saturday evening, or Sunday if you're looking to make a weekend out of it.
Hands down, one of the most iconic Newport "to-do's". Relish in the views of Narragansett Bay while relaxing in Adirondack chairs sipping bubbly. 10/10 experience.
Attached here is the information for a trolly tour of the decadent, lavish, oceanfront Gilded Age Mansions! A list of "the classics" include: The Breakers: The most famous of the Newport estates, once home of the Cornelius Vanderbilt II; Marble House: Inspired by the Petit Trianon at Versailles; Rosecliff: Modeled after the Grand Trianon at Versailles, featured in films like The Great Gatsby and 27 Dresses!; The Elms; Rough Point Fun Fact: Blithewold Mansion, our wedding venue, also falls under one of these "classic mansions", but resides on the neighboring island of Bristol!
Enjoy local oysters and craft cocktails at restaurants like The Mooring, Midtown Oyster Bar, Clark Cooke House, or Bar 'Cino. Highly recommend The Nitro Bar, Belle's Cafe, or Corner Cafe for a caffeine replenishment.
