Sea-Tac Airport

If you're flying in for the wedding, Sea-Tac airport (SEA) is your only option. The airport is conveniently located between Seattle and Tacoma so you have your pick of locations to make your base-camp for the weekend. Chase and Nicole live North of the airport in Seattle (30 minute drive or 50 minute light rail ride) and the Robinsons live South of the airport in Olympia (1 hour drive).

Getting Around

Unfortunately, Tacoma does not offer as many public transportation options as Seattle does. It is possible to get around very inexpensively by using the transit system but bus/train trips generally take much longer than driving. Another great option would be to use rideshare apps like Uber or Lyft to get around. A trip from the airport to Tacoma will cost about $50. We recommend getting a rental car to allow more flexibility in your trip, but please keep in mind that parking is rarely free in any of the major cities in the Puget Sound.

McMenamin's Elks Temple Hotel

The Elks Temple Hotel is the newest addition to the McMenamins brand. The 1915 structure was recently transformed into a hotel with bars, ballroom and live music venue, brewery, restaurants and a secret room – in short, an all-around gathering spot for out-of-town guests and locals alike. The hotel includes 45 king guestrooms, each appointed with a private bathroom, wifi, television and usb ports. Threads of local history are woven throughout the rooms – and the entire structure – through art and written stories. We recommend this hotel for a fun and unique place for couples to stay close to all the action in downtown Tacoma

AirBNB

We love AirBNB! In fact, the bride and her party will be staying in an Airbnb home the night before the wedding! If you're looking for a unique place to stay on your trip, consider searching the Airbnb website for a rental home or apartment. It can be surprisingly inexpensive and offers a really neat experience.

Travel Note

Note

With so many hotels, AirBNB rentals, etc available within driving distance of our venue, we know it might get confusing. Downtown Tacoma is about 20 minutes from our venue and offers a lot of great things to do. Federal Way is about 15 minutes from our venue and offers the cheapest places to stay. Seattle is 45 minutes away (on a good traffic day) and offers all the most well-known tourist attractions in the area. We hope you are able to enjoy the PNW a little on your trip to our wedding!
