Chase and I met at the University of Washington in the spring of 2012. Chase was studying Geology and I was studying Biology, but we were both required to take Physics 118- Heat and Electromagnetism. On lab day, Chase found himself with an empty seat to his right and I slid in and asked if he would be my partner. Like the magnets we built in lab (poorly, by the way - don't ask us to re-wire anything in your house), we were drawn to one another. After months of blushing hellos, small talk and stolen glances during lectures, Chase asked me out for a post-exam celebratory drink. And so our story began! 5 years later, while walking the dog, Chase and I discussed our future. Though we'd both known where it was headed already, it wasn't until that moment that we finally said "let's get married". A few weeks later, he took me to a custom jeweler to create my dream ring and then he held onto it for MONTHS awaiting the perfect moment to surprise me with a proper proposal. On the morning of December 16, 2017, that moment arose. Chase asked if I wanted to take Finley on a walk in one of our favorite parks, Carkeek Park. We often took walks here on the weekends so I thought nothing of it. However, as we trekked uphill to our favorite viewpoint, I noticed a sort of quiet, nervous energy from Chase. When we got to the top, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! It was the perfect surprise shared just between the two of us (and Finley). We celebrated that evening with a fancy dinner at Chandler's Crabhouse and dress circle seats at the Pacific Northwest Ballet (my favorite)! Chase and I have grown and experienced so much together since our late nights partying.. *eh-hem* studying..in college. We have become travel companions, dog parents, fine pizza connoisseurs and best friends. Most importantly, we have grown from lab partners to life partners and we cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together!
