Travel Note
If you are driving up from Southern California, Google Maps will route you from the 101 to the 154, but we suggest staying on the 101, as the 154 is a two lane road.
Travel Note
We suggest staying in the following towns: Closest (10-20 minutes): San Luis Obispo City Any hotel on Monterrey St. will be walkable to downtown SLO and easy access to HWY 101. Santa Margarita Very small town, no stop light or grocery store. Airbnb ONLY. Atascadero Near by (20-35 minutes): The following are by the water, but also a bit farther Avila Beach Pismo Beach Morro Bay *A note about travel on the Central Coast: The distance you travel usually equates for the amount of time it takes, as we have less traffic conditions.
Travel Note
Once you enter the town of Santa Margarita you will drive onto a two-lane country road for about 7-10 minutes. Drive slow and watch out for wildlife, such as boars and deer.
Travel Note
Below are some hotels we recommend. Please reach out if you have questions about any hotels you are looking at or if we can help with finding a place to stay. Also, airbnbs in Santa Margarita or San Luis Obispo are a good option for a family stay. :)
