Walking distance from Courtyard Austin. This is one of our favorite Italian restaurants in town. You'll want to make dinner reservations ahead of time as they're usually booked.

Walking distance from Courtyard Austin. This is an excellent choice that requires no reservation. We've never waited for a table here. Great burgers and beer located on 6th Street with a casual atmosphere.
"Dirty 6th"
Walking distance from Courtyard Austin. The name may discourage you, but this street is the heart of Austin on a weekend night. If you want to check out some of the oldest bars in town and do some people-watching, 6th Street from I-35 to Congress is closed off for pedestrians after 9PM. Archie recommends Pete's Dueling Piano Bar, just avoid the fish bowls if you don't want to be hungover for the wedding.
Rainey Street
Walking distance from Courtyard Austin. This bar street is quintessential Austin. All bars are built in converted houses, and you'll find everything from cocktail lounges to 100+ beers on tap.
Esther's Follies
Walking distance from Courtyard Austin. Sketch comedy, Austin style - complete with music, magic and politics. We've taken out of town guests here six times and always love it. Shows twice every evening, and reservations required ahead of time.
Midnight Cowboy
Walking distance from Couryard Austin. If you're looking for a romantic evening, this "speakeasy" cocktail bar is a must-visit. Reservation only, this cocktail bar was a converted brothel that's marked only by a red lightbulb on 6th street. And it has the best cocktails in town.
Barton Springs Municipal Pool
10 minutes from downtown Austin. Let's be honest - it's still hot in Austin in September. This natural springs is an iconic Austin spot. If you've got some time to kill on Saturday or Sunday, catch some sun and take a dip at Barton Springs.
Zilker Metropolitan Park
5 minutes from downtown Austin. Pretend you're at the Austin City Limits music festival by checking out the famous Austin park where ACL is hosted annually. Volleyball, off-leash areas, plus a hike and bike trail for those who want a breath of fresh air before (or after) dancing the night away.
Jester King Brewery
10 minute drive from venue. Considered one of the best breweries in the country with extremely limited distribution, we'd highly recommend this brewery for any craft beer lovers. The brewery is on a working farm and is very kid-friendly, so you can also grab a cold one and take a walk around the property (complete with baby goats!).
Treaty Oak Distilling
15 minutes from venue. Not a fan of beer? That must be weird...if you're a liquor fan instead, this distillery has a stunning property and specializes in both whiskey and gin. Family-friendly venue with yard games and lots of outdoor space.

5 minutes from downtown Austin. How could you come to Austin and NOT try BBQ? This is our favorite BBQ spot, but expect to wait during peak meal times on the weekends.
Iron Cactus Mexican Restaurant and Margarita Bar
Walking distance from Courtyard Austin. If you need a little hair of the dog after the wedding, this spot has an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet and unlimited mimosas. You're welcome. Brunch buffet on Sundays only, but a great centrally-located choice for lunch or dinner any day.
