If you want to check out some of the oldest bars in town and do some people-watching, 6th Street from I-35 to Congress is closed off for pedestrians after 9PM. Archie recommends Pete's Dueling Piano Bar, just avoid the fish bowls if you don't want to be hungover for the wedding.

Walking distance from Couryard Austin. If you're looking for a romantic evening, this "speakeasy" cocktail bar is a must-visit. Reservation only, this cocktail bar was a converted brothel that's marked only by a red lightbulb on 6th street. And it has the best cocktails in town.
10 minutes from downtown Austin. Let's be honest - it's still hot in Austin in September. This natural springs is an iconic Austin spot. If you've got some time to kill on Saturday or Sunday, catch some sun and take a dip at Barton Springs.
5 minutes from downtown Austin. Pretend you're at the Austin City Limits music festival by checking out the famous Austin park where ACL is hosted annually. Volleyball, off-leash areas, plus a hike and bike trail for those who want a breath of fresh air before (or after) dancing the night away.
10 minute drive from venue. Considered one of the best breweries in the country with extremely limited distribution, we'd highly recommend this brewery for any craft beer lovers. The brewery is on a working farm and is very kid-friendly, so you can also grab a cold one and take a walk around the property (complete with baby goats!).
15 minutes from venue. Not a fan of beer? That must be weird...if you're a liquor fan instead, this distillery has a stunning property and specializes in both whiskey and gin. Family-friendly venue with yard games and lots of outdoor space.
