Let’s set the stage. It’s early 2015 in Austin, TX at a surprise birthday party. Archie, the birthday boy’s roommate, and Nicole, not actually invited (shh!) but tagged along with a friend. Archie spotted Nicole across the bar. She’s pretty, he thought to himself, and it looks like she could use another drink. He offered to buy the next round, and she accepted. He’s easy to talk with, Nicole thought, and they cracked up over a story of how one of Archie’s students was campaigning to change the school mascot to the Walruses. Let's skip over the scene where Archie couldn’t remember Nicole’s name, and instead cue the romantic dating montage. Nicole knew she was in love when Archie bought peanut M&Ms the day he could tell she was getting hangry. Archie knew he was in love the first time Nicole asked to wear his Eagles jersey when they watched the game together. Or maybe it was when she bought him a Walrus beanie baby because the story about his student still made her crack up. They knew they were in it for the long-haul when Nicole’s dog, Ada, became a daddy’s girl, and Archie’s dog, Oakley, only listened to Nicole. Archie was drawn to how Nicole was not only motivated, but motivated him. Nicole could never repay the important lesson Archie had taught her - to focus on what truly mattered, and stop stressing about the rest. And after 4 years, they knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Fast forward to a sunny afternoon in Orlando, we see Nicole walking around Disneyworld with her mom and sister after running a race together in the morning. Nicole was taken aback to see her own prince charming, Archie, standing in the walkway ahead of her just beside Cinderella's castle. He was supposed to be back in Austin with the dogs. He told her that he had a whole speech prepared, but he couldn’t remember a single word. What was important was that he loved her, and Archie asked Nicole to marry him. Of course, Nicole said yes.
