It was their third year of college at Northeastern, and to end the year with a bang, Lana's sorority threw a dance. Little did they know, it was a dance that would change their lives forever. Lana went with a friend, and Nick was set up with a sorority sister who needed a date. Before the dance began, everyone traversed to the south end of Boston, packing into a tiny apartment to get ready, or as the kids call it, "pre-game". Their gazes met amidst the lively chaos of the dimly lit room, resonating with laughter, pulsing 90's beats, and the energetic buzz of college revelers gearing up for the grand soirée. It was in that look, that first hello, that first smile, that they realized they would never stop thinking about each other, and they never have.

The air was warm, the ocean breeze flowing across the sand as the sun set over Kennebunk, ME. Lana's mom had come up to visit Nick's family for the weekend, and they had just finished devouring a plethora of lobster from the rickety family owned lobster hut called Nunans. Nick suggested watching the sunset in the little hidden cove, nestled behind their house since Lana's mom was up in Maine for the first time. As Nick's dad drove back to the house, 10 mph, commenting on the beauty of Maine, Lana & Nick felt their insides swirling, because let's be honest, they both knew what was about to happen. Finally, they made it to the cove, Millie, Nick's dog sprinting down the narrow rocky path, concealed by an arch of overgrown flowers and greenery. They all traversed over the rocky beach, the sky brimming with color as the sun went down over the glass blue ocean. As Lana turned to look at Nick, he was down on one knee, finally the same height as her. He asked "Lana Lamar, will you marry me?" and the rest is history.
