Sam and Nicola met at the Columbia Publishing Course, in the summer of 2014. They were both there to make one of the many career changes that ultimately have led to the careers they're in today. For eight weeks, Sam sat behind Nicola, completely mesmerized by her intricate braided hair styles. One day, at breakfast, he plucked up the courage to say hello, and to ask if he could post a picture of her hair on Instagram. She said yes. Meet cute: check. Over the next few weeks, Nicola may or may not have engineered herself into Sam's work group, allowing them to spend days at a time elbow to elbow, working to launch an imaginary news website. Sam was all business, stalwartly leading the group to imaginary publishing greatness, while Nicola, her design duties satisfactorily completed, spent a great deal of time day-dreaming about long walks together in Riverside Park and romantic trips to IKEA to furnish impossibly small NYC apartments for two. Smitten: check. The rest, as they say, is history. Four years and two cats later, Nicola and Sam stand together, excited to celebrate their love and commitment to each other. All they need now is for their friends and family to stand alongside them as they clasp hands and jump into the journey ahead.
