My name is Ariana I am from the beautiful city by the Bay. I enjoy being a mommy, hiking, and shopping endlessly at Target. The first time I met my Sagittarius sister Kathia was at the 12th Street Bart station platform when she asked “is your skirt cotton?" I knew that she was one of the most genuine people that I would ever meet. We have so many things in common. We are two very matter of fact people; we both have very clear visions of where we want to go in life; we are very sentimental; we are very loyal; and, we share the same fundamentals as to what constitutes a true friend. I admire her and our friendship. Her creativity, her heart, her nurturing spirit, her beauty both inside and out makes her the total package! I am so happy to be included in this special day!
Roxanne Dominguez-Shell
Maid of Honor
Roxanne is a law school friend of the couple. She met them while attending USF School of Law. She is lucky to call both Kathia and Nico her dear friends. Roxanne is a Bay Area native, and bonded with Nico over Bay Area music and sports teams. Like the couple, she also graduated from UC Berkeley, where she majored in Sociology. Go Bears! Roxanne considers Kathia one of her best friends and have been there for each other through the ups and downs of law school. She has enjoyed eating both Kathia's and Nico's delicious cooking, studying together, and traveling with the couple. She loves them dearly, and cannot wait to celebrate their wedding day with them. During her spare time, she likes to try out new restaurants and hike different trails in the Bay Area.
Josh Volponi
Best Man
Josh, a Bay Area native hailing from Livermore, attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he met Nico while playing baseball for the Cal club team. They bonded over their shared fandom of Cal and the Giants and have spent a good amount of time attending games together over the years. Josh is also an avid traveler and has made multiple trips to Latin America and Europe as well as throughout the US, including a Florida road trip with Nico. Currently Josh works as a research associate at UCSF studying cognitive neuroscience. He is ecstatic to be part of Kathia and Nico’s special day!
Alex Sproul
Groomsman
Alex was born and raised in El Cerrito, CA very close to where Nico grew up. Alex and Nico attended school together through high school and enjoyed many of the same activities including sporting outings, Cal Athletics, and outdoor activities. Alex attended college at Willamette University in Salem, OR which gave an excuse for Nico to come up and go to the Cal vs. Oregon football game to watch the Bears get crushed. Alex moved back to the Bay Area after school for work and has settled down in Berkeley for the time being. Alex and his girlfriend Rose love exploring outside and enjoying the surrounding area while living with their 2 cats. With Nico living so close by it's easy to meet up for holiday cookie decorating, drinks and food, or another losing effort by Cal athletics.

My name is Stephany and I am Kathia's younger sister. I'm a Los Angeles native, married, and have two beautiful children. I'm a Registered Dental Assistant in Downey, CA. I've had the pleasure of knowing Nico for more than 6 years. I'm happy that he will finally become an official member of our family. I'm ecstatic to celebrate the love that Nico and Kathia share for one another.
Michael Kershner

Michael attended high school with Nico, where they became good friends during freshman year baseball season. It rained a lot that year, and many games were canceled, but Michael thinks all that rain helped create the soft, rich, fertile soil that would soon allow their friendship to blossom and thrive. Michael now lives in Michigan with his fiancé Christina, but the two are excited to return to California to celebrate with Nico, Kathia, and Maya.
Nick Kneafsey

Nick and Nico have been friends since JV Football their freshmen year of high school. From there, many good times ensued including street football battles in front of Nick’s house, hours of Star Wars Battlefront on Playstation 2, white knuckling it as Nico drove hypersonic speeds in his Volvo on Ordway, and a ton of baseball games and tournaments. Nick now lives in South San Francisco with his girlfriend Janet. He mainly enjoys doing indoor activities.

I have been blessed to have Kathia as a friend since ‘98. I honestly cannot remember how we first met or the details around getting to know Kathia but I feel like she's been a friend all my life. There is never a dull moment with Kathia, she is a beautiful person with the funniest personality and I love her honesty and outspokenness. We share so many good and bad moments/memories that can probably get us in a lot of trouble but we won’t go there. I’m honored to be a part of this beautiful time for Kathia and Nico and blessed to be a part of their wedding.
