Walnut Creek is a central location to enjoy much of the Bay Area, but if you want to stay close, it offers its own charm as a part of the Bay Area. One of our favorite places to go is the Broadway Plaza shopping center.
One of our favorite places in the city, with dramatic views of downtown layered on top of the bay. It's a vibrant and eccentric hub for the city and easily accessible from BART. Valencia street nearby has blocks of shopping and eating.
Livermore is home to many of California's best wineries - some of the biggest names being Wente and Concannon. We like some of the smaller wineries too, Retzlaff and Murrieta's Well being consistent favorites!
Our favorite local restaurant! Treat yourself to Michelin rated seasonal cuisine, it's always a hit. The churro dessert is a must-get when available.
If the classics are your thing then Napa is a must.
Opt for the night tour if you can, one of the most infamous prisons gets better at night.
The highest point in the East Bay Area, the summit of Mount Diablo, is accessible with a short but windy drive. Montana's father, Carl, was the ranger for this State Park so be sure to ask Ranger Carl for recommendations!
The closest spot to see the redwoods and where we took our engagement photos! Beautiful redwood forests sitting atop the ridge with lookout spots to view the whole bay, perfect for a little lunch picnic.
The closest beach might be here on the western edge of San Francisco.
A more scenic and rugged beach, this is our favorite sandy spot. (Might be a longer trek than 1 hour).
