Day Trips

For those staying for more than the weekend, there are great day trip options within driving distance of Harrisburg. Our recommendations: 1. Lancaster- Take a scenic drive through Amish country, stop by the farmers market and wander galleries in this growing art community. 2. Gettysburg- Wander the Gettysburg Museum of History, the historic battlefields, and stop in town for a ghost tour. 3. Philadelphia- Dine at the fantastic restaurants, visit at the incredible Philadelphia Museum of Art and shop at the famous Philadelphia Italian Market. 4. Jim Thorpe, PA- This Carbon County town is a relic of the coal industry bygone in PA. Worth the trip to check out the architecture and gorgeous mountain setting. Plan to hike, tour the museums, and ride the historic passenger train. 5. Pine Grove Furnace State Park- Gorgeous hiking spot with a range trails from easy to challenging. For drinks and a beautiful view, Hauser Estate Winery isn't too far out of the way.

For all the days along the way
