“We’re getting married!”

Anwar: So there I was, in the heart of Honduras. I was several weeks in on a work trip around the countryside, alone yet unafraid. I kept my sanity by staying in touch with folks via WhatsApp and enjoying everything Honduras had to offer. One day I got a ping from her brother about meeting up with Nickole and their mother while she was visiting the country.  To this point, I knew Nickole existed but never saw or met her before. I agreed, however it never came to fruition and unexpectedly from that juncture, Nickole was on my radar. One fateful night a few months later we finally met, and from the moment I laid eyes on her I knew I couldn’t let her go. Her presence, her brilliance, her humor, and that incredible smile would have me captivated for the rest of my life. Nickole: Our story began at a karaoke bar in NYC, celebrating my cousin's birthday. My brothers’ made the spontaneous decision to invite their friend, who was on military leave. While we had been aware of each other's existence, we hadn't formally met until that evening. As the night unfolded, we discovered a multitude of shared passions, including our love for belting out tunes with mediocre singing skills. From the moment our eyes met, there was an undeniable connection that sparked between us. We decided to give this a try despite living in different states. Fast forward eight years later (with six of those years being a rollercoaster of long-distance dating), we now stand on the precipice of our next chapter, filled with overwhelming joy and gratitude to have you all present to witness our journey.
