FAQs

The Wedding Website of Shae Varholak and Nick Sattler
We tried to think through as many of the details as possible, but if you have any other questions, please ask! You have our numbers and email addresses; let us know what you may still be wondering.
Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. But, we want our wedding to be your night off! Please leave the littles behind with the grandparents, the sitters, the neighbors, or any other responsible adult.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes. If it doesn't, please fly solo and mingle.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Cocktail attire to semi-formal sounds about right. Want to snaz it up? Go for it! We love snaz! But, we want you to feel comfortable, too. (Read: If those shoes are too high or that top button is too tight, we encourage you to rethink your outfit choice.) We also love you all for your eclectic styles, so feel free to use this as the opportunity to break out your slightly off-beat patterned shoes or your neat, English-inspired feathered hat. Cocktail dresses? Yep. Suits? Totally. LBD? Go for it. Trendy jumpsuit? We're down. Note: The whole event is outside. If you often get cold, we suggest checking the weather and planning accordingly! Even if you don't run cold, we definitely suggest bringing a coat. You'll also be walking on grass at times, so be mindful of your shoe choice.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We really do plan to start the ceremony on time—if you've met the bride, you know this is legit—at 4pm. So, please arrive a bit early so you have time to say your hellos and take your seat. Don't worry, you Early Birds: we've got a trick up our sleeves (and some champagne) to keep you busy.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels/AirBnBs to the ceremony?

Answer

We won't be providing transportation, but if you're staying on our side of town (the westside of LA rather than in Pasadena), we recommend Lyft or Uber to get to Pasadena. We are working with the companies to possibly provide discounts to our guests, so stay tuned (or please follow up closer to the date!).

Question

How are you dealing with COVID-19?

Answer

After 8 years of being together, we are so excited to finally celebrate our love with everyone. This day is about getting our family and friends together. But, the ever-lingering dark cloud of The 'Rona is unfortunately still relevant, and the health of all of you is our top priority. In order to ensure the safety of everyone, we ask that, if you are planning to join us, you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The people we care about the most, many of whom are in their golden years, will be in attendance. Out of concern for them and respect for our hosts, also please refrain from participating in any gatherings or high risk activities in the week(s) leading up to the event that may expose you to any strains of the virus. If you are at all not feeling well, please let us know and respectfully pass, even if you initially RSVPed 'yes'. While we want you all there with us, it's also just one day, and we can celebrate in a different way at another time. Thank you for understanding! Xox
