French market, French food, French movie. While John was freaking out about his movie choice, Titane, Nickii quite enjoyed it.

Our first place together in Logan Circle, Washington DC! When we were students, we each lived in a basement.

It was our first time in South America. Nickii was on a work trip advancing American diplomacy. John was tagging along and couldn't breathe due to the elevation. We made friends with an alpaca named after the Inca sun god, Inti, and went through the Sacred Valley up to Machu Picchu.

We walked through the National Arboretum and saw a 400-year-old bonsai tree that survived the atomic bomb at Hiroshima. When John proposed to Nickii, she started crying immediately. Everything was a blur - we hope she said "yes."
