Maid of Honor
It all started on February 18, 2013 via UW-Madison's Random Roommate page! Nicki posted a bio -- and Erica slide in the DMs right away. After a short back and forth about hometowns, music preferences, cleanliness and excitement for Madison parties -- the vibe was right. It was official - we'd be FRESHMEN YEAR ROOMIES. Nicki & Erica wound up living with each other all four years of college, and made a kajillion memories in between. A couple that stand out are swaying in the dorms, Halloween as Nicki Minaj and Jwow, Halloween/Bday parties in general, Spring Break in Cancun (S/O Wes & Dylan), Drake concert, and much much more. After college, distance only made us value our time spent together more. Nicki & Erica finally live in the same town (Denver) for the first time since college and could not be more thrilled to make more memories. Roomie & Besties 4 lyf.
Best Man
Kevin and Wes met through Nicki and Erica sophomore year of college. Before Nicki and Kevin were officially dating, Nicki would bring Erica and Wes to Kevin's quiet, reserved, not at all out-of-control get togethers at 111 S Randall. They instantly became boys from then on. If you catch Wes on the dance floor, ask him about the time he tried to fight the Winklevoss twins. When Kevin and Nicki moved to San Diego shortly after college, Kevin and Wes stayed connected through Fortnite, nearly daily texting, and various weekend trips in SD, Chi & Seattle. The four of them share a love for hiking, the outdoors, and passing time in breweries, so these weekends went by rather quickly. Fast forward to 2023, and Kevin & Wes are reunited in the same city. Today they bond over pumping iron, Formula 1 racing, fly fishing, and much more.
Bridesmaid
Emily & Nicki have been in each other's lives since they were 12 years old. Similar to Lauren - Nicki and Emily were also in the same circle in middle school and high school. Fast forward to college - Freshmen year, Emily lived 2 floors above Nicki & Erica and the party days commenced. We were officially best friends and wound up living together for the next 3 years. After college, Nicki and Emily found themselves in the same career path doing tech sales. We worked at Zendesk together, and now work at 6sense together adding the title of "colleague" to our relationship category! Nicki & Emily talk basically every day on every form of communication - Slack, Snapchat, Insta, text, you name it.
Groomsman
Kevin and Andrew go BACK. We're talking 12 years old in 6th grade homeroom. They initially bonded over a love for rap music, beat boxing, and skateboarding. Instead of reading, Kevin and Andrew would beat box and freestyle rap for other boys' in the class entertainment. Living 10 minutes apart helped enable their antics. In high school, Kevin got a job at the same supper club as Andrew and spent most weekends at Drew's house. They were on the football team together, worked together, and spent a lot of time together. After high school, Kevin went to UW-Madison and Andrew went to UW-Oshkosh and visited each other frequently. After college, Kevin moved to San Diego and spent 1.5 years trying to sell Andrew on moving to San Diego. In October 2021, Andrew finally caved and the guys lived 5 minutes apart, just like old times. Kevin had a hard time moving out of San Diego with Andrew there but they remain close to this day, bonding over a love for the Green Bay Packers, golf, EDM music, and reminiscing on old times.
Bridesmaid
It all started in Ms. Jensen's Algebra class at Craig High School. Nicki was a Freshman in Poms and Abigail was a Sophomore in Cheerleading. Only two girls in skirts and bloomers in the class - so naturally they gravitated towards each other. Got to say - not much learning was done, but they perfected how they could do our hair and make up, while still getting a good grade in Math. We clicked over lunches to Fazzoli, high school parties, visits to Milwaukee and so much more. Abigail is one of the funniest people you'll meet in your lifetime - you will get abs from laughing with Abs (see what I did there ;). Nicki and Abigail finally live in the same city together again (Denver!) and have been making new memories ever since!
Groomsman
Kevin met Joel in college through his freshman year roommate, Andy. Joel and Kevin have the ability to go from laughing their heads off to having the deepest of conversations in the same sitting and share a similar sense of humor. In August 2018, Kevin helped Joel make a cross-country move to Eugene, Oregon to pursue law school. They visited each other in Oregon and California, and stayed in touch while individually pursuing law school and graduate school. In 2023, Joel and his girlfriend moved to Denver just months after Kevin and Nicki made the move. Kevin was ecstatic to have him in the same city. Today they live 4 minutes apart and share frequent weekday lunches, probably chatting about life, sports, or when they will smoke their next cigar.
Bridesmaid
Lauren and Nicki met in the 5th grade - just before they'd start middle school at Marshall. Our mutual friend, Rylee, invited friends over and Nicki & Lauren instantly hit it off. They would up hanging out in a closet and prank called all the numbers they had memorized (pre cell-phone era of course.) Nicki and Lauren became quickly became besties and shared the same circle throughout middle school and high school. They loved to take walks, dance and make up pom routines, go on trips (Florida and Indiana were always a blast), concerts (including Nicole's first concert to see Daughtry & Theory of a Deadman), and shared endless heart to hearts driving around with ice cream. After high school, they remained close through visits to each other's colleges - and now share annual Nicki / Lorn weekend adventures. Lauren is a truly a sister for life!
Groomsman
Matt and Kevin were floormates in college and met the very first week (shoutout Sellery 6A). It only took one conversation for Kevin to realize that Matt was going to be one of his best friends. They bonded over hip hop music, a love for conspiracy theories and documentaries, and having eerily similar high school experiences/personality traits. Kevin lived with Matt during all 4 years of college and had an absolute blast. Except for the time Andy and Kevin got hot sauce on Matt's favorite shirt...we'll let you ask him about that one. After college, when Kevin moved to San Diego, Matt and Kevin took the opportunity to take turns visiting each other in San Diego and Los Angeles during Kevin's 3.5 years in Southern California. Some of Kevin and Nicki's favorite days and nights are spent with Matt and his girlfriend, Janet, exploring Malibu, sharing stories over dinner, and checking out nightclubs in Hollywood.
Bridesmaid
Hannah and Nicki met Freshmen year of college. She lived on the same floor as Nicki and Erica (4A baby) - but on the other side of the hallway. We were acquaintances until Sophomore year when she came to our house nearly every day, as she was really good friends with one of our housemates! From there - Nicki & Hannah hit it off and even lived together senior year of college! She wound up dating/marrying Andy Miller, who is also one of Nicki's high school friends and one of Kev's former roommates who also happens to be a groomsman. We share lots of double dates and trips to the lake house. Hannah and Nicki bond over self-care, wine and new experiences. Shout out to camping, women's retreat, Ariel yoga & dance classes.
Groomsman
Andy and Kev were freshman year roomies. Initially bonding over a love for football, Kid Cudi, and beer, they quickly realized they were going to become buddies. Sundays in 656A often consisted of blasting Miley Cyrus while folding their laundry, catching Sunday football games, and binging an unhealthy amount of Breaking Bad, Dexter, or Walking Dead over a family size bag of Doritos. Andy invited Kev to weekends on the lake in Southern Wisconsin and Kevin always has a good time with Andy and his family. In Kevin's first year in Denver, they wasted no time reuniting and have already gone camping, golfing, and ran a half marathon last summer. Andy was also doubling as Kev and Nicki's real estate agent when they made the move, and they are still waiting for him to find them an affordable house ;)
Bridesmaid
Nicki & Nina met at their first job after college at a social media marketing agency. They hit it off pretty quickly - especially since they found out they lived in the same apartment building and could walk to and from work together each day. Their time at their first job was short lived because it was *cough cough* horrible. And shortly after they started working together at a new company - Zendesk! Work wives for life! Now that we live in different cities, we cherish the time we spend visiting each other! Nina has one of the sweetest souls and is one of the warmest people out there.
Groomsman
Kevin met Michael junior year of college. Michael had founded a new student organization, the "Mad City Spitters", a freestyle rap club, that caught Kevin's interest. After a few heinous cyphers and ridiculous song recordings, they bonded over a similar sense of humor and love of music. After college, Shammo made a surprise visit to San Diego to visit Kev with Nicki's help. He visited San Diego one other time and even visited Kev and Nicki in Denver already. Kevin has always appreciated Shammo's positive energy, easy-goingness, and effort to remain in touch. Today they visit each other whenever they can and Kevin won't visit Wisconsin without seeing Shammo at least once. Kevin is working on making Shammo the newest resident of Denver, so if you see him around feel free to help the cause!
Bridesmaid
Nicole and Taylor met at work at GoSite. GoSite was the first job that Nicki had when she moved to San Diego. On the first day of work - Taylor was the first one to greet her since she was the Office Manager! Working in a male-dominated side of the office (sales), Nicki found herself venturing to the front desk to chat with Taylor throughout the work day and for lunch. Shortly after - they graduated their friendship offline and became real friends. Nicki and Taylor enjoy happy hours, going on bay walks, watching live music and having a classic girls night with rom-coms and wine.
Groomsman
Sean is Kevin's brother and one of his best friends. When Sean was born, Kevin was 12 years old in 6th grade. He helped babysit, change his diapers, and gave him rides to/from school. If you see Sean, ask him about the two (yes, two) TVs that he destroyed on Kevin's watch. As Sean grew older, Kev and Sean became closer and closer. Kevin has found a lot of joy in watching Sean grow into the man he is today. Today they bond over lifting weights, motorcycles, racing, and business ideas. Although only a junior in high school, Kevin is banking on Sean to start a multi-million dollar business and hire him out of the corporate rat race.
Usher
Jeff is Nicki's big brother. He is two years older, and their birthdays fall only two days apart. Scorpio babies! As little kids they shared a bed room, had fun holding lemon-aid stands, wrestled, and shared a handful pool birthday. They share a love of cats, rap music, dancing, traveling to new place and just having a good time.
Usher
Kev and Nick met in college through Emily and Nicki. They became good friends very quickly and have a knack for getting each other riled up every time they're together. You can find them on the dancefloor having a dance battle or motivating each other about working out via trash-talk in one of several group chats with Wes titled "The Girth Boys", "Planet of the Apes", and/or "Apes on Business". Don't ask. Kevin always has a great time with Nick and values the lightheartedness of their relationship as well as Nick's ability to make him laugh. Today they connect over lifting weights, rap music, and standing on business. They also share a love of trolling Wes.
Flower Lady
Lori is Nicki's grandmother on her mom's side. She lights up any room she steps in with her bright blue eyes and shining aura. When Nicki was growing up, Lori and her late husband John would pick Nicki up from school and help with homework, Spanish counting, and always had fun activities in store. At about 6 years old, Nicki had a Wizard of Oz craze - Lori, being a creative sewer, made Nicki a Glinda gown with a crown and wand to dress the part. She wore it over and over again. Throughout life, she's never missed a dance recital or poms performance. Nicki could count on her to cheer her on from the sidelines and in life shouting "Encore!"
Flower Lady
Cassy is Kevin's sister that he grew up since he was 3 years old. She has the sweetest heart and is one of the kindest souls you will ever meet. She loves dancing, story-writing, and watching dramas or comedies. Although Cassy is 3 years younger than Kevin, he has always looked up to her and admired her strength and positivity. When Cassy and Kevin were young, Kevin would watch Disney shows with Cassy as a way to spend time together. She has a heart full of love, making her the perfect flower girl on a day intended to celebrate love.
Officiant
Meet our officiant, Alan! Alan is a one-of-a-kind guy who Kevin and Nicki adore very much. Kevin and Alan were chemistry classmates and acquaintances at UW-Madison in Wisconsin. Fast forward to 2 years post-college, and Kevin ran into Alan at any Anytime Fitness in San Diego. Shocked by the coincidence and excited to have a Wisconsin friend in San Diego, Kevin and Nicki connected with Alan and his roommate Grant over dinner parties and talks about real estate investing, self-improvement, and life. Coincidentally, Alan moved from San Diego to Denver shortly before Kevin and Nicki did and they were lucky enough to have some overlap with Alan in Denver before his move back to Wisconsin late last year. It became clear to Kevin and Nicki that Alan was a life-long friend and the perfect person for the tall task of being Officiant. Alan's drive, ambition, and love of life are inspiring to Kevin and Nicki. Ask Alan about one of his book(s) or salsa dancing skills if you see him around!
