Our families connected years before we were ever supposed to. Nick already considered my family part of his own as I did with his family. Nick had stayed at my grandparents house on multiple occasions, like seriously how have we never met! When the time was right, 500 miles apart, a tropical trip was set in place without knowing exactly what was in store for me and Nick as well as our entire family. A few months later we boarded a ship that sailed towards the sun and things just fell into place. From day one, the conversation, competitiveness, and late night dancing were endless. Sparks were all anyone could see. Not completely understanding what was happening, the interest was very real so we just trusted in each other and pushed for what we wanted. We can attest to the saying; when you know, you just know.

Paris! Freaking Paris! Famous question-"Did you know he was going to propose?" Honestly, no. I ended up playing mind tricks on myself. Everyone asked us if it would happen in Paris. We were asked around the clock and if you know Nick then you know if everyone thinks he will do something then he'll do the opposite. Also, it didn't help that right before our trip Nick sat me down and said "babe, just so you know, this trip is only a trip for your birthday. I just don't won't you to get your hopes up." So of course I immediately felt so bad for even thinking that a trip to Paris was not enough! I totally put that to rest in the back of my mind and completely focused on the amazing adventures we were about to have. And lets be real, Nick didn't know he was proposing either until about two months before we left. The middle of our magical week long trip, we were walking the streets of Paris and Nick has the bright idea to go into a very NICE ring store, you know "just for fun" he says. Before I knew it, the manager took us downstairs to view their "special collection", meaning rings worth more than our house. We, I mean Nick, talked the talk and giggled with them for a while and explained that we would think about it and get back with them! Out the door we went laughing and sweating just a bit, Nick smiles and said "well that was fun!". We go about our day and at that point I had completely crossed it off my list that he even had a ring. After grabbing a bottle of bubbly and a couple plastic cups we were ready to go sit in the field and watch the sun set on the Eiffel Tower. Using our mini tripod we'd been using for most of our photos so far, Nick sets the camera up for what I thought was just a picture. But being the good man he is, he had a video recording the entire proposal. All my life I have prayed for you and it turns out that you are more than I could ever imagine.
