American Airlines is currently the only airline with direct flights to Brazil. This would be the best option for flying, but will be the most expensive since they are the only airline. Price range $1,300 - $1,700.

The more affordable option of flying to Rio is to take a flight with 1-stop. There are several options for 1-stop flights with short layovers. We recommend the 1-stop to be in GRU (Sao Paulo) which is a short ~1hr flight to Rio afterwards.
