Meet the peeps

Julia Briscoe

Maid of Honor

Julia is my very wise younger sister or also known by strangers as my twin. She is funny, strong, beautiful and determined, not to mention maker of the best hot chocolate. Julia helps me to form a decisive voice and ground me back to what is important.

Kristian Guenther

Bridesmaid

From the first week of our friendship freshman year of college, I was that nut of the girl who slotted Kristian to be my bridesmaid. What can I say, I knew from day one. She is the person who knows me so well and continually shows up and stands by me; not to mention will always feed me nachos, lattes and french fries when I need it most.

Kate McCrossen

Bridesmaid

Kate has been in my life since pre-school, gaining the role of longest friend! She is full of wisdom, passion, grit and loyalty. So much loyalty, that she stuck with me through those days of attempting to be rockstars, dreaming of dating the Jonas Brothers, awkward high school dances and through the distance of college.

Shelby Voigt

Bridesmaid

Shelby is equal parts friend and family. An honorary Briscoe member and besties with Linda (my mom). Not only in my life, but to so many she has brought passion, courage to speak on and about important topics and makes people consider Jesus in a deeper way. Thankful for her hugs that can fix anything and for always being down for adventure or sloth-ing.

Jordan Cook

Bridesmaid

After a whole college semester of Jordan avoiding being my friend, I finally got her to hang out with me, and since that day Jordan has never failed to show up. Jordan is the best person I know at putting love into tangible action; she constantly is going out of her way to serve her friends and any person she meets. Not to mention she brings the party mini van to this crew and is even willing to get it stuck on a mountain trail for the sake of exploring.

Kate Gloe

Usher

Although we met at a summer camp prior to college, Kate became such a deep part of my life once at college and living in the same room junior year. Kate is someone who is bold and fiercely listens to the Holy Spirit. Don't make us play Catan because we are insanely competitive, but other than that I find deep joy from having Kate around to do the mundane to the adventurous.

Savannah Rae

Usher

Savannah and I met at a college ministry, which is funny now because I just consider her a life pal through it all. She has the best music and art taste, not to mention hits you with that unpredictable and unassuming humor that is killer. She is strong and passionate in the world, along with being such a safe, positive, encourager in my life.

Nathan Mutono

Best Man

My high school friend, at the time of this writing he is living in LA (soon to move again). Bonded over fantasy novels and anime. Professional music producer and songwriter. I love him for how easy and relaxing it is to talk with him. We went to high school together in Uganda, lived in small town Illinois together, and then later in a crummy apartment in Boston, and boy do we have stories. His one claim to fame is that Elton John likes his record and played it on the radio.

Neamin Kifle

Groomsman

My high school friend I met in Uganda. Neamin is from Eritrea, currently living in Toronto. He works with kids and teens, and likes to travel. Neamin is someone I go to talk to about things- hard things I'm working through and fun things I'm excited for (he is an excellent hype man).

Krister Broce

Groomsman

My younger brother. Despite constant bickering in our youth, and not keeping up with each other very well now as adults, somehow I think Krister knows me better than anyone, on some level. He enjoys exercising and hiking, and is currently training to become a licensed electrician.

Jake Broce

Groomsman

My older brother. We grew up fighting and not liking each other very much, but had some healing after living together again from 2017-2019. Jake is into a lot of the same things I am: same type of books (fantasy), same show preference, board games, video games, tennis. We were initially worried about living together again, but ended up getting along better than our other roommates. I'm glad for that mature shift in our relationship.

Kaleb Hopson

Groomsman

One of my oldest remaining friends (from high school, alas). He was the first friend I made when I moved to Uganda. They're hard to hold onto when you move as often as I have. But Kaleb has always been a loyal friend. He was my first roommate after moving out at 18. We lived together in a little attic with a ceiling just too short to stand fully. Now he is a married man, and I to follow. How far we've come.
