This all started at a birthday party thrown in the honor of Abraham Lincoln :) Nick and Linz had many mutual friends and both were at this party. Nick remembers seeing Linz that night, but Linz will swear up and down she never saw Nick, although he does appear in the background of her pictures from the night.... The next night was a beer pong tournament (hey- it was college!) at the same apartment. This night, Nick was the first person Linz saw. She turned to her roommates and told them how he was the cutest guy she had ever seen. By coincidence, a friend of Nick's was standing right behind her as she said it and he passed along the message to Nick. As luck would have it, Nick won the tournament that night while simultaneously flirting back and forth with Linz. When Nick ran out to buy beer, Linz and her roommates' apartment was broken in to (luckily all could be replaced), and she had to run home without exchanging numbers. Nick returned to the party and immediately tracked down her number. He texted her the most comforting message and she agreed to have lunch with him the next day :) He took her to Cafe Zia, and she won him over when she proclaimed she loved the classic wrap! They decided to pursue law school together, which took them from sunny San Diego to blustery Laramie, WY. The first winter had wind chills of 40 BELOW zero, and Linz was certain Nick would run home, but he did not. Not only did he stick out that abnormally cold winter, he fully embraced Wyoming and took up snowboarding as much as he could. Jobs took them to Cody, WY, which is where they live and play to today. They fell in love with the area and everyone in the town. Rosie joined the picture 2 years ago, and has made their adventures even better. The engagement was perfect, and what both did not realize, was that it happened right on Abraham Lincoln's birthday, bringing everything full circle 9 years later. We are so excited to be taking this next step together.
