Our Story

Nick & Leslie - June 2015

Leslie and Nick. Where to start? When I’ve read these in the past I’ve often wondered who these stories are for. Who is the intended audience. I mean, if you’re coming to this wedding (and you should definitely come because it’s gonna be dope) I hope you know us or at least have some vague understanding of how we came to be. That’s fair right? Pretty reasonable? “I like this guy Nick, he’s reasonable” “Did they meet in Mexico is that why they’re getting married down there?” “Is Nick Mexican?” “Oh I thought Leslie hated Nick, they’re getting married?” Good questions, but No - to all of them. I’ll break it down for you, for documentation purposes. As my manager told me at Salesforce...this will be documented” The First time Leslie and Nick met was June 2015 @ a champagne bar in Carmel-By-The-Sea called Caracciolli cellars. Nick went to the bar on a Saturday afternoon with 2 friends (Max and Doc) after a round of golf at Bayonnet in Seaside, which was lovely. Did he play well that day? Probably not. Leslie was working @ Caraccioli at this time, minding her own business. Being a student, studying, bettering herself. Growing as a person. Scott Caraccioli owns the bar and was in that day, and he has a resemblance to the actor Giovanni Ribisi. I mentioned that reference and Scott overheard it: “that’s hilarious I get that all the time, I love that guy. Ladies pour these guys another glass… and fellas, it’s on the house” so yeah, you guessed it. The ladies, was Leslie. She looked at me, unsure if she wanted to speak with me further or pour me the complimentary glass (that we rightfully earned.) Maybe she knew what would transpire over the next 10 years. So the champagne was poured, it was delightful. Brut rosé? It’s very ‘yummy’. I drank my glass, I was feeling confident and to impress Leslie I said, “I’m going to buy a magnum of the brut rosé because I am enjoying it so much." “Are you a wine club member?” “No…. But I should be?” I never did join the club but I secured the magnum brut rosé with a swipe of my credit card. “Could you really afford that bottle?” Hey don’t ask questions, just enjoy the story ok bud. So now you have an extremely detailed account of what happened that day in June 2015. Now, how much more time do you have because I could give you a play by play from our first “date” at San Jose Bar & Grill? They were blasting hip hop music, dance floor was crawling with the usual suspects and it was “ratchet” as people say. Leslie was concerned. “what kinda place did you bring me to?” “Oh this is downtown San Jose girl, you didn’t know?” We finished the night playing beer pong in my parents’ garage with Michael & Co. you could say “he went to Michael.” Alright so what else do you wanna know? I could tell you about our values and our mission, future goals? I know you all don’t give a hoot about those things. Half of you won’t even read this far. But seriously, if you do wanna know, you can always talk to us, especially me. I have time for you. But yeah, the smart move here is coming down to celebrate with us in Mexico, it’s the prudent thing to do. You have been hand selected, 1 at a time, choosing only the best cut Guests with the most sparkle. Head straight to the source. Leslie said “yes”. I will be securing the Maggipinto bloodline in California and me being 3rd generation, it’s incumbent upon me to see things through. Mom would be proud. She was big on legacy. And she loved Champagne too. But seriously, what better way to establish a good bloodline than to marry Leslie and associate myself with a smart bilingual family that can teach our keeds. We Maggipinto’s need to strengthen our foothold in the central coast, is it because it has close proximity to wineries and golf courses? What Can't Golf?! Marriage is supposed to be fun. Well we’re gonna try our best. We love you all and cannot wait to see you in Playa Del Carmen - April 11 2026. I told you it’d be dope. Nick & Leslie ~ Out
