Wedding Party

Meet our favorite people!

Kaitlyn Kalessis

Matron of Honor

Hi, I’m Kaitlyn-Matron of Honor-and soon to be Kayla’s favorite sister-in-law. I don’t remember the first time we met, but I do remembered we’ve been besties ever since!! She is my confidant and the sister I never had! Kayla is the person I know I can always rely on and I can’t wait to see her marry my brother and officially become a part of the family!

Kayla and I met in college. We quickly became best friends after bonding over sorry horses and a mutual appreciation for the color pink on Wednesdays. In the 10-plus (holy shit) years we've known each other, that friendship has grown. Through everything life has thrown at us, the one constant is the sisterhood that we've built and I cant wait to stand with Kayla as she marries the love of her life!

My sister !! Where do I even begin? There is so many ways I can start this, so many things I can say. My sister, wait I have to rephrase that. My big fiffy, I would call Kayla that growing up and would drive her up the walls. From bothering her at her doorway as a kid asking what she's doing every 5 minutes to only being able to go places if Kayla came along. She's one of the most responsible and loving human beings on this earth I know. She's been such a motherly figure in my eyes and the best big sister and friend anyone could ask for. No matter the occasion I know she would always have my back. She's shown me not to be afraid, and always be courageous and take risk. Words will never be able to explain how much I love you ❤️ I've been honored to be one of my sisters bridesmaids, and I will cherish this moment forever. Xoxoxo

Oh Kayla , where do I begin? Kayla & I met in equine anatomy and physiology in my first year of college. We bonded over a mutual friend and little did we know we would become best friends! From that moment on we were inseparable. We worked at the same barn and always made the best of the extremely hot days. We took the gator out and got stuck OR ran out of gas and used the bronco to get it back to the barn without anyone knowing😂 we than become roommates for a couple years & had some of our best memories. Kayla finally got karma & we boarded the horses at an old zoo (what an experience)😂 We spent countless hours at the barn with our horses ( they were also besties), to driving around jamming to ridiculous songs, many dates at the lunchbox (iykyk). I could name many memories but probably shouldn’t with family on here😂 Kay has been there through many crazy times with me & I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m so grateful that we bonded over someone we both knew and to this day have still remained friends. Kay , I cannot think of anyone more deserving of finding the love of her life. You have have a heart full of gold & are so bootyful 💕I’m so extremely happy for you & nick. I can’t wait to stand by your side and watch you marry your best friend. Love you always kay ♥️

I met Kayla in the summer of 2016 where I got the ABSOLUTE PRIVILEGE of being her assistant for 3 months. During the first week, I felt an instant friendship and immediately we started hanging out and she truly became the best friend I could've ever hoped. Through the farm, we had so much fun feeding babies, dealing with crazy mares and babies and water fights with the boys. You invited me out to the bar with you guys where I still to this day cry laughing. Those memories of that summer will forever be the funniest of my life! Within those amazing memories, Kayla introduced me to her roommate/coworker Ian who is now the man I have such a beautiful family with, 7 years later! Immediately upon finding out I was pregnant; Ian and I knew Kayla had to be his God mommy. After her and Ian moved into the apartment together, we became tied at the hips; doing things like target trips to smell candles, going to the pool & rodeo, snack trips to sonic and endless nights watching How to Train Your Dragon. When Nick came into the picture, I remember the conversations we had about how great he was and all of the things he did that were such an amazing fit for her. I always knew that Nick would be such an amazing man for Kayla and would always treat her with the respect, dignity and kindness that she gives everyone else that comes across her path. Nick truly brought such a light to her life and I am so thrilled to see these two spend the rest of their lives together! I truly love you both!

3 years ago if were talking about Kayla to someone I call her “my boyfriends brother’s girlfriend” but today I’m honored to just say I call her a friend. Kayla has always been my favorite craft buddy over the years and one of the few who understands what it’s like to date a smith man. She’s one of the most supportive people I know and I am so thankful to have her in my life.

I met Kayla on a slow day at work in the Emergency Department. I had rolled my chair over to her and we had begun chatting in between phone calls and patient tasks. During this time we both decided to order in smoothies and bond some more. That day I had found a smoothie buddy. After that we talked more and she learned things like my forever changing coffee order and when it was a tea day instead and would surprise me with them during work, as I would with her as well. Shortly after we found ourselves at the same restaurant where she invited me to join her at the bar where we laughed until our stomachs hurt and ended up crashing at my apartment after and the rest was history. These moments all joined together to help form the foundation of a lifelong friendship.

Nicholas “Nick”. I have know Nick for almost 20 years! That’s a crazy figure to think of. As I sit here looking back on everything we have done together I can’t help but miss the days that I would come home from school and change out of my school clothes and ride my bike over to Nicks house, which later turned into driving my truck over to Nicks house, mind you we lived less than a quarter mile away. We were attached at the hip, sleepovers every weekend, even though this man can sleep through a magnitude 500 earthquake. From tricking our bikes out with police lights, sirens, “rebuilding atvs”, sneaking into Aerojet, having a boat engine fire off of Hens and Chickens reef in the keys! Let’s just say we’ve done it all. I couldn’t be happier to see Nick so happy with Kayla. I am so lucky to call both of them my best friends! I love you both and can’t wait for your big day! Nick and Kayla I love you both! Now let’s get you two married. Love you!!!

To think our entire friendship was sparked over a pair of Costa sunglasses is insane. Ever since that day Nick and I have enjoyed getting into trouble together. In high school, Nick and I would regularly take up 14 parking spaces with the truck and boat and the second that bell rang we would be flying down to flamingo to go fish and camp for the weekend and if we made it back in time for class on Monday we would cook breakfast in class. Nick, to say you had an impact on my life would be the understatement of the year, I wouldn’t be who I am without your guidance and friendship. I am honored that I get to stand beside you while you marry the love of your life and watch y’all start your lives together. I love you both and cannot wait for the open bar…I mean wedding!

The story of my first real relationship So, this is the story of my first real relationship…. With Nick. Yeah, there’s a plot twist already, huh? Well allow me to explain. It started in our Junior year of high-school, you can blame it on the hormones or whatever you want, but the truth was, it started at the gym. Come to think of it, that also probably had something to do with all the hormones.. and some of us may have had more than others.. cough cough.. Well, anyways, I’d been working out for a little while, and Nick decided he wanted to be a part of it to, so I guess you could say that means HE asked ME out. Well, I thought it was great. Me and Nick had been buddies for a while, and I was excited to have a friend to lift weights with…. But boy was I wrong if that’s all I thought we would be doing….. get your mind out of the gutter folks. Read on and I promise this will make more sense. So it started out by Nick picking me up from my house after school and then off to the gym we would go. As we started exercising more and more, we began to learn more about health and fitness and realized that our nutrition was the next thing that needed to fall in line. So soon enough after our workouts we would go back to Nick’s house and make dinner. Nick’s parents worked hard and often, so sometimes it was just us and his brothers and we would get to cooking together, and I know a bunch of you have to know this already, but he is one hell of a cook.

So before we knew it, there we were, in the kitchen, cooking like an old married couple together every evening, and sometimes helping the boys with their homework, or making Nick’s favorite at the time, baked sweet apples. This “relationship” went on for almost 2 years until our growing schedules slowed things down, but in that time, Nick taught me a lot. He taught me patience, because man he could be stubborn about what he wanted to eat… okay, maybe that was the other way around. He also taught me persistence. Day after day I would watch Nick drive himself forward in the gym, and not once can I remember a time he would get frustrated if he didn’t achieve a goal, he would simply reset and try again the next day. He also taught me about partnership. Working out, dieting, and cooking with Nick I learned how to work alongside someone to grow together. You can’t train with someone if you don’t look out for one another, and it’s important you stay on the same track. Lastly, and most importantly, Nick taught me how to find the bright side in everything. No matter what would get in the way of our next goal, or if something went wrong with a meal, Nick always find a positive spin, or a bit of humor in every situation. It’s hilarious to say looking back, that unit l got married myself, the most positive and healthy relationship I was ever in as a young man was with Nick!!!

Nick and I met through Tyler and clicked right away. We soon started going on fishing trips to flamingo, having bonfires at my house, late night poker games, working on trucks together, and too many different shenanigans to recall. We’ve grown so much since then and luckily didn’t grow apart. I can’t wait to watch him marry the love of his life and for all the future memories we will continue making!

One of the best memories with my brother Nick was when we all went to Lego land and had a blast of a time going all over the park to all the different rides and when everyone wanted to go on a big one and I did not Nick took me to the one where we got to drive the boats so I would not feel left out.
