Flight

DCA, IAD, or BWI

There are three major airports surrounding Washington, DC. Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) is the closest airport to the city. Located in Virginia, it is only a 30-minute drive to downtown where the hotels are located. It is a smaller airport, so it might not offer as many flight options as IAD and BWI. Dulles International Airport (IAD) is also located in Virginia and is about an hour drive to downtown DC. It is a major airport, offering more flight options from more locations than DCA. Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) is the major airport located in Maryland and is about an hour and one-half drive to downtown DC. It is the farthest airport from DC, so we recommend trying to find flights at DCA and IAD, first. All three airports have multiple rental car companies. While the rental car companies at DCA and IAD are both on-site at the airports, BWI has a consolidated rental car facility offsite at Stoney Run Road and New Ridge Road. Each airport also has Taxis, Uber, and Lyft pick-up on-site.

Getting Around DC

DC is a walking city! Weather permitting, we encourage everyone to walk around downtown and see the sites! All of the hotels that have room blocks are only a short distance from the city's main attractions - the Washington Monument, Smithsonian museums, Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials, etc. You can also take public transit. Feel free to visit the WMATA website at the link below to find out how to navigate the metro and bus system. And, of course, there are always Taxis, Ubers, and Lyfts available.
