Everyone will get to experience the Smithsonian National Museum of American History during the wedding celebration, but we highly recommend also checking a few of the other 17, FREE, museums, galleries, and zoo that make up the Smithsonian Institution.
The Washington Monument was built to honor George Washington and stands at the center of Washington, DC. If you are a fan of heights, you can buy tickets to the top of the 555 ft. obelisk and experience the beautiful view of the city.
The National Mall is a great way to see the city's iconic monuments, including the Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and WWII Memorial (to name only a few). There is also the U.S. Capitol at the eastern end and the White House to the north. If you have time, we recommend taking an afternoon to explore!
If you love good food and views of the water, then you should check out The Wharf, a mile-long stretch along the Potomac River with delicious restaurants and fun shops.
Union Market is another fun place to try new food - from pop-ups to established restaurants - and explore local artisans. Fun fact - The first neighborhood Jenny lived in after moving to the District is right next door to Union Market!
The Arboretum is a public garden and arboretum in Northeast DC. With 446 acres to hike, it features major gardens and other collections. Fun fact - This is one of Peyton's favorite places in the city!
Georgetown is home to the C&O Canal and some of the most well-known restaurants in the city. Filled with history, it also is a great place to shop!
