Things To Do

The Springs

3742 ID-21, Idaho City

You need to make a reservation in advance if you want to soak in the hot springs.

Boise Greenbelt

The Greenbelt is a paved trail that follows the Boise River. Go for a walk or rent bikes at McU Sports or Idaho Mountain Touring.

Hiking or Mountain Biking in the Foothills

There are a ton of great trails in the foothills. Some of our favorite areas are Camel's Back Reserve, Harrison Hollow and the Military Reserve. Check out the interactive map to plan your hike/bike ride. You can rent mountain bikes at Idaho Mountain Touring or McU Sports.

Hyde Park

N 13th Street, Boise

If you want to go for a little stroll, check out a store or two and get a little treat, this is the perfect area to visit. Java or Certified Bakery are great places to get coffee and breakfast (the certified breakfast sandwich is a local favorite, but we think their burrito is actually way better). Goody's is perfect for ice cream or milkshakes. If you want to grab a beer you should go to Lost Grove.

Whitewater Park

3400 W Pleasanton Ave, Boise

There are multiple different features at the whitewater park. If you plan on kayaking or surfing, make sure to check the schedule before you go. You can rent equipment at Idaho River Sports. It's best to park at Esther Simplot Park to access the whitewater park. If you don't want to get in the water, it's still a pretty area to walk around the Greenbelt and Quinn's Pond.

Breweries

Some of our favorite breweries are Mother Earth, Payette, Barbarian (Garden City location) and Lost Grove (North End Hyde Park location). Mother Earth, Payette and Barbarian are tap houses that don't serve food. They're great places to take kids and dogs. Lost Grove also serves food.

Restaurants

Some of our favorite restaurants are Bardenay (downtown location), The Wylder, Pho Nouveau, Nam Thai, Tavolata and Tap House. If you're looking for a quick grab and go situation Wyld Child, Tin Roof Tacos (Broadway location) or Parilla (North End or downtown location) are great options.

Breakfast

The Griddle (Parkcenter location), Quinn's, Moon's Kitchen Cafe and Blue Bench Brunchette are great breakfast places. Certified Bakery is a great option if you're not looking for a sit down situation (their breakfast sandwich is famous, but we think their burrito is even better).
