Reno Tahoe International Airport (RNO)

We found the easiest route to South Lake Tahoe when flying is to fly into the Reno Tahoe International Airport (RNO) and drive down. From RNO, it is about an hour and ten minute drive south on 580 to South Lake Tahoe.

There are options for Uber and Lyft to get you to and from the airport if you prefer, but will be a little more expensive. Feel free to check out those options and buddy up if you have similar flight times.

Additional hotels

In addition to the hotels mentioned above, there are numerous wonderful hotels that would be great to stay at depending on your preference. Within walking distance of Heavenly Village are the Lake Tahoe Resort, the Marriott Timber Lodge, or The Grand Residence (these are a bit pricier). Across the state line (literally across the street, also within walking distance) are the Nevada casino hotels such as the Hard Rock, Harrah’s, and Harvey’s (for those who love to play the odds). If you’re looking for a more lake/forest vibe, Camp Richardson has a hotel and cabins available to rent that is within walking distance to the wedding venue, but about a 15 minute drive away from the downtown area.
