Nick and Brittney both swiped right on an online dating App called Bumble, it was a match! From there they spent weeks getting to know each other via text messages as it was around the holiday season. Finally, in January of 2018 Nick agreed to hang out with Brittney where they spent some time watching Free Willy (Nick's favorite movie) and eating pizza. Fast forward to late January and they were inseparable. They spent many hours with their dogs, watching movies, and finding new things to experience together. On January 25th, 2018 Nick asked Brittney to be his girlfriend by making a sign and having his dog, Max, officially ask the question. Of course Brittney said yes, how could you say no when you include a cute dog in the process. As the seasons changed they soon realized that it may be time to get a bigger space as Brittney's Studio Apartment wasn't cutting it anymore and their dogs really needed some room to run. By October of 2018 they had a house of their own in Faribault, MN. After that the rest is history.
For their second anniversary Nick planned a surprise for Brittney. Little did Brittney know Nick had been planning this surprise for over 6 months! In the days leading up to the event Brittney assumed they were just going out to a nice dinner so she went and got a new outfit, got her hair done, and even her nails. When it was time to go Nick told Brittney she had to pack a bag because we weren't coming back that night. Suspicions growing Brittney assumed it was just a night out so she packed the basics. On the way to their destination Nick stopped at Target and made her wear a blindfold the rest of the way. The blindfold stayed on all the way from the parking spot, up a flight of stairs, and into a reserved space where all of their family and friends were gathered. At this point Brittney had no idea what was going on and why everyone was gathered here. Nick told Brittney that it was a big surprise party for our birthdays and to celebrate our anniversary. Nick grew more nervous as he knew he was about to propose to the love of his life. Not long after arriving Nick pulled Brittney up to the front of the room to exchange their gifts. When Brittney opened and read her card aloud Nick was on one knee popping the question with ring in hand. Brittney, being the awkward human she is, said "yeah!" Not yes, not absolutely, just "yeah!" Their families were ecstatic and the remainder of the night was spent celebrating and laughing with friends and family.
