Let’s celebrate

How it Started

02.15.2020

It all started with a Tinder date mere weeks before COVID hit. During lockdown and after only two dates out in public - they were forced to decide - do we like each other enough to quarantine together? While the world stood still, they got plenty of one-on-one time. Making meals together, playing games, and bonding over shows new and old. From there, these two went through a lot of unique and intimate experiences given the world’s landscape. Early on they navigated job changes, health scares, financial hardships, current events madness, maintaining important relationships via phone calls and hang outs over Zoom, and adjusted holiday celebrations – often just with each other. Needless to say, they got a lot of quality time and didn’t have to share each other with much of anyone. And they’re still not sick of each other!

Our Wedding

09.03.2022

With the hopes of having a low-key wedding outdoors, these two asked to crash Nick's family vacation in South Haven (and they excitedly obliged). A quaint Air B&B and beautiful backdrop of Lake Michigan proved to be a perfect spot to celebrate their union. A few people gathered, Becca's dad officiated, we shared a few tears and a lot of laughs, and we had a photographer there to capture it all. Simple, fun, intimate and oh-so-special. They're in good company with this wedding date, too - now sharing the same anniversary as Bob and Linda from Bob's Burgers: 9/3 (it’s easy to remember, because 9 is divisible by 3). This date and that show were a big part of their special day, right down to the burgers the groom cooked for guests - taking a "Burger of the Day" from the show - The Poutine on the Ritz Burger.

How it's Going

When asked "what's it like being married??" our answer is "....the same!" And we mean this in the best possible way. Day-to-day life didn't change much post-wedding, only that now we feel even more committed and connected to one another. We get to have such cherished memories of our wedding day, which we are so grateful for. Our lives are laughter-filled, and delightfully comfortable. We still frequent the brewery where we first met (and are now card-carrying-members of, thank you very much!) We continue to be out-numbered by our three very loving and often obnoxious cats. We are fortunate to have a place to call home. We do most things together because that makes adulting so much sweeter and more fun. Sharing the load of homeownership, cat wrangling, and all the other adult responsibilities, we make a well-balanced and supportive pair and just could not be more grateful to have found one another. Now that we tied the knot, we are ready to have a big bash to celebrate our marriage - exactly one year after the big day. We are so grateful to have you in our lives and we hope to spend some time with you this Labor Day <3
