A wild amount of things had to line up in order for Nick and Morgan to meet. Somehow, we both began our careers in Altus, Oklahoma--Nick as a choir director and Morgan as a youth director. But on top of all that, we both chose to work at the First United Methodist Church in town. Our interests were sparked as we met each other face-to-face in a coffee shop that summer, but it wasn't until September that we became "official."
Nick's original goal was to propose in Disney World while they were visiting with the whole Young family there. Nick didn't get the ring until after the trip though, so by the time he actually had it, he decided he was going to propose the very next time he saw Morgan. The day after Morgan returned from her own family vacation, Nick planned a day of "all the things Morgan likes doing around Altus." After a nice, long day of quality time, Nick kneeled and asked outright. The answer was, of course, yes!
No one can dispute that 2020 is a year of uncertainty, but it is true that Love is undisturbed by the circumstances of life. So, on May 30, 2020, with only our immediate families present, we vowed to be together forever. It was a beautiful, meaningful day although the experience was a little different than we had anticipated. We plan to do a "Blessing of the Union" ceremony and reception so that we can celebrate with everyone as soon as it is safe to do so. We can't wait to see you then!
