Nana is truly the heart of Elizabeth’s family, a caring and generous soul who has always been there with open arms and unwavering love. She’s not only saved Elizabeth’s life but has also welcomed Jon into the family with the same warmth and acceptance. Despite being blind, Nana’s vibrant spirit and boundless love make her a cornerstone of this celebration. She will be escorted down the aisle by her grandson Henry as the honored “Flower Nana,” ready to share a special dance with Jon, her new grandson, and to take part in every moment of the ceremony. This day holds even greater meaning, as Elizabeth and Jon are celebrating their marriage on Nana’s own wedding anniversary. Nana was married to Elizabeth’s beloved Bub for 60 wonderful years before he went to be with the Lord, and their marriage has been a profound example of love, faith, and commitment. By sharing this date, Elizabeth and Jon honor Nana, Bub, and the legacy of love that has been passed down through generations. Elizabeth and Valaurie first met as missionaries in London in 2012 and became instant friends. Over the years, they’ve bonded over their shared love for Taylor Swift, Pride and Prejudice, and all things fall-themed! Valaurie is originally from Canada but is traveling all the way from South Korea to be in the wedding, a journey that speaks volumes about the depth of their friendship. They often joke that Valaurie is an honorary American and Elizabeth is an honorary Canadian, a symbol of the friendship that crosses both miles and borders. Elizabeth couldn’t be happier to have Valaurie by her side on this special day.

Carrie officially joined the Nichols family in 2018, and married Henry in 2020! But she’s been a friend and a sister in Elizabeth’s heart for years. They first bonded over their shared love of sign language and crochet, and since then, Carrie has become one of the people Elizabeth can always count on. The bride couldn’t imagine this day without her by her side. Elizabeth is so proud to call her a sister and is grateful for her love, support, and friendship every day.

Chewbacca, affectionately known as “Chewie,” isn’t just any dog—he’s a true hero and a beloved member of the family. He’s saved the bride’s life more than once, proving he’s not just loyal but also downright legendary. On the big day, Chewie takes on the role of Ring Security, ensuring everything goes smoothly and with paws-on precision. Chewie has also decided to share a special dance with the bride because, let’s face it, no wedding is complete without a little furry flair. Though he adores Jon and has officially given him his paw of approval, Chewie wants everyone to know that he loved Elizabeth first. As long as Jon remembers that, Chewie is more than happy to welcome him to the pack. This Wookie is ready to celebrate love, laughter, and a new chapter—with plenty of treats, of course!
Sage Chad Teebo
Ring Security
Sage Chad Teebo, Chewie’s “big” (in attitude) brother, is the definition of a derpy yet delightful diva. While it took Sage a little while to warm up to Jon, he’s since trained him well—specifically in the fine art of delivering treats on demand. Sage only acknowledges Jon when it’s convenient for him, which is exactly how he likes it. On the big day, Sage will most likely be found glued to the mother of the bride or his beloved Gamma, whichever human is giving him the most attention at the moment. Be warned: Sage will try to convince you he’s never been fed. This is categorically false—he is well-fed, well-loved, and will be thoroughly pampered during the wedding. From the moment Elizabeth brought Sage home, he has loved her fiercely and made it his mission to protect her heart (and share her snacks). While he tolerates Jon, Sage wants everyone to know that Elizabeth is his person first and foremost. With his signature sass and flair, Sage is ready to charm the crowd and maybe even steal the spotlight on this special day!
