Absolutely! We ask that you please refrain from taking pictures or video from the beginning of the ceremony (when the wedding party and officiant enter) until the end (when we walk back up the aisle, grinning like fools). We've asked you to join us because of the important roles you play in our lives, and we'd love for you to be fully present during these special moments. Plus, we've hired a professional photographer who will be snapping pictures like crazy -- and she loves to share!
We're getting married on a working farm, so the ground may be soft and a little muddy in places. Formal attire is not required! Feel free to dress in whatever keeps you warm and comfortable. For example, a blazer and khakis, or a dress and cardigan would be lovely. If we get lucky with a crisp, clear fall day, the ceremony may be outside. Also weather permitting, there will be fire pits and lawn games during cocktail hour. (In other words, you might want to bring a coat!)
Yes, we know. We are crossing our fingers for a perfect Michigan fall day with bright sun and blue skies. But here in the real world, we are prepared with an indoor backup site. Don't worry; we don't like being cold, either. We won't let you freeze.
Yes! We love your kids, and we would love to celebrate with them. But we would also love for you to have a night off! We will have babysitters available -- plus games, toys, and other fun things -- for part of the evening. Please ask us for more details if you are interested.
We will be running a shuttle to and from the Holiday Inn Express (more details to come). If you prefer to drive, complimentary valet parking is available at the venue. Once you arrive for the ceremony, you're all set. Cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing will immediately follow the ceremony, all at the same location.
Per the venue's policies, please leave alcohol, fireworks, and weapons at home. Cornman Farms is strictly non-smoking, so no cigars, vapes, or e-cigarettes. And please don't feed the goats -- they may look disappointed, but they have their own food waiting for them in the barn!
