Allison moved to Toledo in spring 2016 for her dream job -- a federal judicial clerkship. She had every intention of moving back to Chicago after a year, but she figured it couldn't hurt to meet some new people while in Ohio. Meanwhile, Luke was settling into life back home in Toledo after a year at an Owens Corning plant in Amarillo, Texas. Allison and Luke both signed up for the same dating app: Coffee Meets Bagel. Allison thought it had a cute name; Luke liked it because it was free. They decided to meet for a drink at the Durty Bird, a local bar. Luke was a little skeptical because he knew Allison was from out of town, but Allison was the one who got cold feet and cancelled at the last minute. Luke didn't hold it against her and agreed to reschedule for the following week. (They both wore the same outfits for take two.) When they finally got that drink, they hit it off talking about Doctor Who and their quirky families. (Allison's rearranges furniture for fun. Luke had entirely too many cousins to cover in one date.) Two hours later, they realized they were starving. A drink turned into dinner, and dinner turned into a second date. Luke decided he didn't care about the Chicago thing. A year later, they moved in together. Two years later (to no one's surprise but Allison's), they moved to Chicago. Three years later, they got engaged. And now, they can't wait to celebrate their marriage with you!
