It all started in Mr. McQuillan's government class at Cal-Mum. It was Nichole's senior year & Matt came in as a guest speaker to talk about being a volunteer fireman for the local fire department. After class, Nichole told many classmates that she was going to marry Matt Heins one day...Since we live in Caledonia & word travels fast, Matt found out quickly about Nichole's crush. Later that summer Nichole's brother, Scott, joined a youth soccer league. Nichole picked Scott up from practice one day and recognized one of the coaches-it was Matt. Nichole had never been so interested in soccer...she suddenly began attending all of the games & picking Scott up from practice as much as she could. Matt & Nichole had mutual friends who were dating at the time & eventually they were officially introduced. After meeting they didn't have any more interactions until Matt, being the super fly guy is he, messaged Nichole on Facebook. She had never gotten so excited over a message that said, "hey". It was the weekend of July 4th when Matt messaged Nichole. After texting for a couple days, Nichole (half-jokily) invited Matt to the lake to watch fireworks with her and her family. To her surprise, Matt agreed and came down to Honey Lake & spent the evening with her & her family. On July 3, 2013 Matt & Nichole began a friendship that quickly turned into a forever love. We are so thankful to have you apart of our lives & to be celebrating with you.. We love you!
