Antigua Mountain Trail
Finca El Pilar is a private nature reserve with more than 950 acres of cloud forest located in San Cristobal el Bajo, just outside of Antigua Guatemala. The park is dedicated to the conservation of the region's biodiversity and teeming with wildlife including amphibians, reptiles, insects and, most famously, birds with more than 200 species spotted including Emerald Toucanets and Cooper's Hawks. Visitors can enjoy three mountain spring water pools, forest trails for walking and biking and a hummingbird sanctuary. There are two walking trails on the reserve: a popular 2km (1.25mi) trail through the woods and a longer 6km (3.75mi) trail up to the summit of Cerro El Cucurucho with incredible views of Lake Amatitlan, Pacaya, Acatenango and Fuego.
