We met when a mutual friend organized a surprise birthday party for another friend. The elaborate, campus-wide scavenger hunt was designed to include everyone they knew from home and ASU. The celebratory dinner that night brought together this amazing group of people, old friends and new. We hit it off immediately! Only much later did we learn that the person both friends had told us we'd mesh so well with, was the one we couldn't stop talking to. Mutual intuition told us a deep friendship was in store, and our conversation hasn't stopped since! We texted for two months straight, forgetting what the other looked like, but enraptured with the souls we got to know. One Halloween party, and a "Thursday cake" later, it was time to meet again in person. It's funny, but we sat three feet away from each other at a bus stop, texting while waiting for the other to deliver cake. A friend-date over tea turned into a long walk, turned into dinner, then to star gazing. We never wanted to say "goodbye." She was such a breath of fresh air, and infinitely comfortable. By late January, we came to the conclusion everyone else already had; we were a couple!
It's been a colorful ride! We celebrated our 7th anniversary this year. Now having spent a fourth of our lives together, we’ve written many stories (literally), and agreed it’s time to write the next chapter. We’ve checked off all our prequel requirements, and some we didn’t know to expect. It is with joyous certainty we invite our families and friends to join us in celebrating our wedding! It’s been a long time coming, and we are so excited to have the important people in our lives gathered together with us this Spring. We treasure the color you each add to life through interactions and shared experience. Let’s make this new book beautiful!
