FAQs

Question

Where are the Ceremony and Reception?

Answer

The ceremony will take place on the beach at the bride's mom and stepdad's home on Drummond Island and the reception will follow at the Drummond Island Golf Course!

Question

Do I have a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited space, we are only able to accommodate guests who are specifically named on the invitation. If a plus-one is included, they will be clearly listed on your formal invitation. If a guest or plus-one is not named, we kindly ask that they do not attend. Thank you so much for understanding.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love all your little ones, our wedding will be an adult-only celebration with the exception of the bride's nieces and nephews and a few younger first cousins. If children are invited, they will be specifically named on your invitation. We appreciate your understanding as we plan our special day!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is Garden Party Attire! We encourage women to wear sundresses, maxi dresses, or dress clothing that is comfortable yet polished. Men are invited to wear khakis or dress pants paired with a button-down shirt. The overall vibe is dressy, relaxed, and perfect for an outdoor island celebration!

Question

Will food and drinks be provided?

Answer

Yes, to both! We will be hosting a fancy cookout-style meal for our guests, along with a complementary limited bar. We are excited to share good food, drinks, and a fun, laid-back celebration with everyone!

Question

Should I bring a jacket or layers?

Answer

Yes! Our ceremony will take place on the beach and the reception will be in an outdoor tent, so we recommend bringing a coat or layers. Drummond Island's northern location and surrounding lake can bring unpredictable weather and cool breezes, even in spring and summer. Staying cozy will help you fully enjoy the celebration! That said, we hope it will be a beautiful day, and your coat can stay in the car!

Question

Is the venue grass, sand, or pavement? Shoes recommendations?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception spaces are going to be grass and partial sand. We recommend the ladies wear flats, or short wedges to ensure no broken ankles or sinking into the ground! Although, we do have a few EMT's in the family if you decide to be risky with some stilettos! (just kidding, don't do it)

Question

What do I do if I miss the boat?

Answer

If the ferry is "running wild" (when more cars arrive than can fit before the scheduled departure), don't worry! The ferry will immediately return after dropping off its load, so you'll get across shortly. (about 30 minutes) If you arrive late and miss a scheduled ferry that's running on time, you'll need to wait for the next hourly departure! You can leave your car parked in line and explore the views! Fun Fact: Taylor has missed her fair share of boats over the years!

Question

Is there cell service available?

Answer

Cell service on the island is spotty and can depend on your carrier. You'll usually get a signal at the ferry dock, but don't rely on having a signal once you're on the island. We recommend mapping out directions ahead of time while on Wi-Fi where you are staying or at local businesses, as sometimes GPS can be inaccurate in some areas as well. Don't worry though, there will be signs guiding you to all the key locations if you can get to the general area!
