Some love stories begin with fate. Ours began with bad eyesight and a workplace malfunction. The first time she saw him was through a tiny window in a door at work, where her heart immediately stopped because she was absolutely convinced, he was her best friend's ex-boyfriend. (Important note: he looked nothing like him. Truly, not even a little.) Once the panic subdued and her eyesight apparently recalibrated, she realized two things: 1. He was not her best friends ex. 2. He was very cute. Now at the time, she was firmly in her "single and not ready to mingle" era, which naturally meant she would try and convince her friend to go for him because she thought he was like the most handsome guy she has ever seen. Very logical behavior. But when her friend seemed unsure for one second, she said "step aside you indecisive woman, he will be mine then." So, one day, at the brewery they worked at, there was a broken power strip. Consequentially, it was producing a high-pitched noise, interrupting everyone's meals and he came to the rescue. It was truly so heroic. She was so impressed. So, as he was about to turn and walk away, she thought this is her chance. So, she gathered every ounce of courage in her body and asked the smoothest, most flirtatious line she could think of: "Omg how did you know how to fix that?" Truly good stuff. And then he looked at her.. Cue the record scratch. Fireworks. Full system shutdown. Because suddenly all she could see was his eyes, which remain to this day, the most beautiful thing she has ever seen. Naturally, instead of handling this calmly, she enlisted her best friend to help orchestrate constant group hang outs. (Thanks Hannah) There were bar nights, shared laughs, and increasingly obvious attempts to spend time together. Meanwhile, he gave zero signs that he liked her back because he was so genuinely friendly to everyone that decoding his feelings became a full-time investigative operation. Then one night, she finally got him alone. While the two were playing video games together, he casually put his arm around her. She was shocked. But this was the moment she had been waiting for. He turned and smiled at her, and she turned towards him and.. That was it. Roll Credits. Since then, lots of love and a baby later, this black cat and her golden retriever have been completely inseparable. So, if you're ever out at a meal trying to have a nice dinner and all the sudden an irritatingly loud noise erupts and you start to become enraged, just know that maddening noise could be the reason two people fall in love.
