Sara and Nick share the same home town of Terre Haute, IN. However, they didn't meet until Nick moved back to the area to begin Medical School. Sara's brother Zach was the mastermind behind their pairing, and they've been together ever since. Nick is more analytical while Sara is more creative, but they share many pastimes - the arts, spending time with family, and hanging out at home with their dog, Maple.

There are few things in life Sara loves more than snow, and the couple spent many afternoons during their budding romance enjoying the winter weather. So, Nick made it his mission to incorporate it into his proposal. One afternoon after work, he surprised her while playing in the snow with the dog by getting down on *both* knees and delivering a beautiful speech that neither of them can remember.
