Our Story
Sammi and Nick's love story started in the most 2020 way possible: on a dating app in the middle of the pandemic. Their first date was a walk through Sammi's college town of Evanston, donning masks and trying to keep 6 feet of distance.
They clicked immediately, despite only seeing each other's faces for a few minutes. From then, Sammi started going to Chicago frequently to see Nick, going on some of their favorite dates to the Art Institute and the Girl & the Goat. Sammi was in Chicago so much her friends began to refer to Nick as "Chicago Nick."
But the Chicago winter almost tore them apart. Nick decided to move back to Phoenix, and Sammi would soon be graduating from Northwestern and leaving Chicago. Still, they were having so much fun together that they decied to stay together at least until Nick moved in May.
Yet again, Sammi and Nick couldn't part with each other. They decided to do long-distance, and Nick later moved to Washington, D.C.
The rest, as they say, is history...
